Fortnite has become one of the most famous battle royale games of our era. The game had started a new tradition this year with in-game animated short film festivals named Shortnite. Fortnite has already held two this year and now is ready to come out with the third installment on October 28, 2021, called Shortnitemares which will run through the whole weekend.
What is Shortnitemares
Shortnites have been a tradition in Fortnite for quite some months now. Shortnites have been given a new name “Shortnitemares” especially in the spirit of Halloween. Shortnitemares begins on October 28 at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET. It will go on for the whole weekend at will end on November 1 at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET.
During the time that the event will be going on, the players can go into Fortnite Creative and select the Shortnitemares mode, which will land them in the Shortnitemares Theatre, on a custom-built Fortnite map, created by Quantum Builds. In the Theatre, there will be a central festival room where the whole event will be played on loop for the whole weekend.
There will be individual rooms in the Theatre too, where the players will be able to check out each short movie separately. There will be a picture-in-picture option present if the player would like to watch the Shortnitemares movies while playing the battle royale.
How to get free rewards from Shortnitemares 2021
Aside from the film festival, there will be other rewards for the fans. There will be new Halloween-themed content for players like new maps, skins, etc. If a player watches the festival from the custom festival map for 30 minutes or more, they will be rewarded with the Spray Matter Spray which will be resembling the brain-in-a-jar back bling included in the new Frankenstein’s Monster Set.
For the movie buffs in the game, a new theater-obsessed character skin will come to the Item Shop on October 27 at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET. The Kernal Poppy skin is decked out in a Risky Reels popcorn bag and old-fashioned 3D glasses, alongside their Slurpy Slush‘em back bling and Butter Buddy emote.
