Supercell has stopped the development of Clash Quest, its upcoming tactical strategy game

The project has been dumped by Supercell for good!

Clash Quest, Supercells tactical turn-based strategy game, which has announced back in April last year will no longer be worked on by Supercell, who has stopped the development of the project since the game apparently didn’t meet Supercell’s “high standards”. The game had been announced alongside Clash Mini and Clash Heroes

Clash Quest development stopped as it didn’t meet Supercell’s standards

Although the game had been in soft launch for a while now, updates had been rather infrequent and the official Reddit post says, “even after the recent design changes we implemented just before the summer break, we felt Clash Quest still didn’t reach the bar we were aiming for. In the end, we feel this is the right decision for the game.”. It is rather nice to see Supercell not slog it out with a project that isn’t going well and wasting resources and focus on other options.

In case the players made in-game purchases, those can be traded into other games through the support team. The game had some issues and overall, the concept wasn’t the most creative. Although, the team did good work on providing updates with the latest being the Clash Quest June 2022 Update. The update introduced more main and side quests, removed the much-disliked energy system, and added a couple of other things. Despite this, they probably had a harder time keeping the game going.

Supercell is also working on a bunch of new projects like Everdale, while keeping their older titles going. All that being said, Clash Quest being canceled means that the development of Clash Mini and Clash Heroes among other projects might get accelerated.
