Supercell’s Everdale is back in development but with Metacore taking over

The comeback of Supercell’s peaceful city builder

In some pretty good news for the players of Supercell’s peaceful city builder Everdale, who enjoyed the title but were saddened when the major development studio behind games like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale gave up on the project back in October last year citing issues with the game’s quality and how it didn’t meet their standards, can now rejoice after the game is set to make a return to production and mobile devices following its takeover by Metacore.

Metacore set to breathe new life into Everdale

Metacore, a Helsinki-based game development studio with a pretty popular casual title called Merge Mansion under their belt, officially took control of further production of the game from Supercell, who had been looking for someone to take over after they ended development.

In an official blog post, they signed off on the game, sayingEven though Everdale didn’t meet our expectations as a Supercell game, we still saw its potential (and appreciated a lot the heartwarming amount of reactions from the fans!) and came up with the idea of finding a new home for the game.” and also adding that they expect Metacore to breathe new life into their project.

While Metacore might not have Supercell’s reputation, it still should be a title worth waiting for and keeping up with. Everdale might just go from one of the biggest disappointments of last year to an amazing city builder that carries the essence and feeling that all of Supercell’s games do. It’s gonna be something a lot of gamers are going to be looking forward to and hopefully, Metacore delivers.
