The mobile version of the popular Korean MMORPG TalesWeaver has finally got a name, “TalesWeaver: Second Run”, reported Korean media Inven. The game was first announced in February this year and later was showcased in 2021 Nexon Media Showcase during August. Details of this upcoming MMORPG have been scarce but this new, albeit little, update may finally give fans some hope that more news could be on its way about this title. Read on to know more details.
TalesWeaver: Second Run: A mobile spin-off
TalesWeaver is a 2D MMORPG for PC that was originally released in 2003. The plot of the game is based on the Korean novel Children of the Rune. The game currently features servers in Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
The mobile version of TalesWeaver is also reportedly developed by Nexon, the same company behind the PC version. Initial information about the game suggested that the mobile rendition would closely resemble its PC counterpart in terms of stories, characters, and soundtrack. The mobile version is also said to expand upon the game’s original story.
Thus, fans of the original games’ lore/story would be itching to get their hands on the mobile version to see if some of their long unanswered questions can have a conclusion. The game also features vertical screen support and it has been marketed as one of its most important features.
The official description for TalesWeaver: Second Run promises a “vivid story” and “continuously updated episodes and missions” which players can complete together. The description also throws hint at a variety of characters, skill systems and equipment. However, beyond this, information of this upcoming MMORPG has been hard to come by, until now.
With MMORPGs starting to flood their wave into the mobile gaming market, it would be interesting to see if Nexon finally starts releasing more information about their long-awaited title. As of now, the game is said to be released only in South Korea although this may well change in the future.
