Chinese multinational technology conglomerate Tencent Games has announced a new open-world zombie game titled Undawn. The new game is being developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, a subsidiary and internal division of Tencent Games. It’s worth noting that the studio is behind the development of the most popular battle-royale PUBG Mobile. And it also came to the attention that the success of Honor of Kings and COD Mobile boosted the progress of TiMi Studios. According to the official announcement, the team responsible for the development of PUBG Mobile is taking the charge of Undawn, set to release later this year. The trademark for Undawn was reportedly done in November 2020, as the game was in the initial stage of development.
Undawn features both PvP and PvE gameplay
Set in a dangerous and unforgiving world, players must fight for survival against the dual threats of zombies and other humans. It’s a co-op action game that features both Player vs Player (PvP) and Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay. The players can only survive by hunting for available resources and battle with enemies both undead and very much alive. To flourish, the players need to build unique shelters, trade resources, and make strategies to protect themselves. Undawn is expected to release on Android, iOS and PC later this year but you can a closer look at its teaser trailer below.
When will Undawn release
Undawn is expected to be released by the fourth quarter of 2021, but we don’t have any official notification yet. The open-world survival game is expected to be free-to-play with in-app purchases. It’s built on Unreal Engine 4 so there is a chance that we can witness a console version as well.
As of now, not enough information is available as the game is still in development mode. We will update as and when we receive any official notification from Tencent. To know all the details you can also check the official website, Facebook page, and Twitter page.
