Tencent Games has just released the first gameplay PV for their new action strategy game, Virtual Circle, also translated to Virtual Hub or Virtual Ring. This title combines idol girl themes with intense combat gameplay, with pre-registration in China now open as well.
Virtual Circle from Tencent aims to bank on the idol-loving audience
As the description suggests, this game is catered to the fans of idols, who are entertainers popular in Korea, Japan, and China. Developed by Tencent’s Content Development Department (CDD), you can somewhat draw comparisons to Uma Musume Pretty Derby, a similar kind of game with horse girls. However, it isn’t intense in action compared to Virtual Circle.
You take on the role of a mysterious detective, tasked with collecting, training, and managing an idol group to compete in the VFC Strongest Idol Competition while uncovering the dark truths of the game’s world. There are multiple genres mixed in this title, as it revolves around virtual idols, blending business simulation and urban fantasy elements.
From the gameplay showcased in the PV, you will form teams of four to participate in virtual anchor fighting competitions, adjusting your strategies during battle performances rather than in real time. The graphics of the game look brilliant, and the character switching seems to be an internal part of the progression as well.
The PV also introduces popular V-circle anchors, including the virtual image of national first-class actor Cai Ming’s Nanaizi, along with other notable figures like Xingtong, Nanami, LuLu, Shanbao, and A-Soul members.
If you’re in China, you can pre-register for the game through the Haoyou Kuaidao app store, which notifies you of the tests when conducted. However, there are no specific details yet about the English and global versions, including how the game will be and its release date.
