Ninestudios Games has announced the early access of their arcade endless runner title, The Old Man & the Demon Sword, now available on Android. The game is officially based on Fábio Powers’s fantasy-comedy film of the same name. There is no information available yet regarding iOS or the global launch.
Cut through waves of evil creatures with your demon sword to save the village
While film leans into a fantasy-comedy blend with horror and action, The Old Man & the Demon Sword game takes an endless runner route set in a haunted Portuguese forest. Here, you play as Tonho, teamimg up with his possesed demon sword pal as you battle evil forces threatening the small village.

Now, I’m already liking the pixelated world and the solid old-school nostalgia it brings. And the gameplay also looks fun, letting you jump, dash, slash, and parry your way through waves of evil enemies called Fears. Besides this, you also need to switch your approach for different enemies which also helps in keeping your unique pace.
And, I’m sure it won’t be boring as the difficulty increases overtime, testing both your skill and attack timing. If I have to suggest, I would say you try it out and see for yourself if the classic endless runner gameplay, a leaderboard, solid art direction by Spaniard Animation Studios and music by Zé Consciência is up to your liking.
The Old Man & the Demon Sword is now available in early access on Android, and you can go ahead and download the game via the Google Play Store. There is no information available yet regarding iOS or the global launch. Meanwhile, you can also check our list of all upcoming games for the month.
