Voodoo, one of the world’s largest mobile game producers, said today that it had surpassed 6 billion downloads on the App Store in the first quarter of 2022. Since the launch of the App Store, Voodoo has surpassed Microsoft, Tencent Games, and Bytedance in terms of downloads, and is only third to Meta and Google. Voodoo, which was founded in Paris in 2013, is the youngest and only European competitor among the top five, which are dominated by US and Chinese tech powerhouses.
Voodoo aims to exceed the half-billion revenue mark in 2022
Voodoo, which celebrated its ninth anniversary on April 10th, pioneered a new mobile game genre, Hyper Casual. Voodoo’s business model has lately evolved to become a diverse app publisher, servicing both gaming and non-gaming areas. Non-Hyper-Casual Apps accounted for more than a third of Voodoo’s revenue in Q1 with apps such as the social network Wizz, the skill gaming platform Blitz, the leading backgammon game Lord of the Board, and the battle game Mob Control.
