Zenless Zone Zero version 2.8 ‘New: Eridan Sunset’ update will release on May 6, 2026

HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8, titled ‘New: Eridan Sunset,’ will launch on May 6, 2026. This update marks the final chapter of Season 2, bringing two new S-Rank Agents, A-rank Bangboo, story developments, events, system improvements, and more.

Zenless Zone Zero version 2.8 update brings Season 2 finale story

So, Version 2.8 wraps up the ongoing storyline with a new arc centered around a mysterious figure named Ramiel. This time, multiple factions in the Outer Ring are chasing this same target. And, Promeia, the executioner of Krampus, also steps in as an intelligence contact, teaming up with you, Starlight Billy, and Cissia to uncover what Ramiel is really planning and also his identity.

ZZZ Version 2.8 update will feature two new S-tier agents

Zenless Zone Zero Version brings two powerful new S-Rank agents with the Version 2.8 update, and they’re as follows:

1. Promeia

So, Promeia is an S-Rank Ice Anomaly agent who can consume Trial by Cold to trigger powerful Abloom on enemies. You even automatically do Perfect Dodge when you’re attacked while in the Bound Absolution state, which can be triggered with your X Special Attack. And if paired with another Anomaly or Support agent, you can even boost the team’s Abloom damage.

2. Starlight – Billy

Alongside her comes Starlight – Billy, an S-Rank Physical Rupture agent, who’s basically a powered-up version of Billy and comes with a combat motorcycle. Plus, your Sheer damage scales with your health, and he also has self-healing skills. And then comes his Ultimate, which lets you deliver heavy burst damage to enemies with the signature Starlight Knight flying kick.

3. New Bangboo – Booltergeist

Joining them is the new A-Rank Bangboo called Booltergeist, which can float in the air and attack enemies with lasers. It also deals more damage with certain teammates on the team.

Along with these two, ZZZ Version 2.8 also brings

• Rerun banners of Lucia (Ether – Support) and Orphie & Magus (Fire – Attack).
• New Hoshimi Miyabi: Dignified Blossom outfit at the shop.

ZZZ Version 2.8 Update Banner Phases

So, here are the Banner phases for the above two new Agents:

• Phase I Banner
  • New Banner: S-Rank Agent Promeia Signal Search Channel “Cold Rain Wanes in the Night“
  • Rerun Banner: S-Rank Agent Lucia Signal Search Channel “Wandering Night Lantern“
• Phase II Banner
  • New Banner: S-Rank Agent Starlight – Billy Signal Search Channel “Starlight, Shine Bright!“
  • Rerun Banner: S-Rank Agent Orphie & Magus Signal Search Channel “Wrathborn Duo“

New combat mechanics and enemy additions

In the Version 2.8 update, we’ll also get a new enemy attribute and a new Vortex combat
mechanic. And here are the additions:

• New Wind attribute enemy type.
• New Vortex mechanic that replaces Disorder when other Attribute Anomalies are applied by enemies inflicted by this Wind Attribute Anomaly.
• It deals AoE anomaly damage that matches the corresponding element.

ZZZ Version 2.8 brings new events, rewards, and optimizations

Like all the previous version updates, you can also look forward to various events and activities, and they’re as follows:

• Operation: Save Bootopia Event: You can explore the Bangboo resort as Eous, rescue trapped Bangboos, and collect rewards. By clearing this event, you can unlock the new Bangboo, Booltergeist, and its Bangboo core for free.
• Ultimate Verdict Trial Event: You can fight alongside the new agent, Promeia, and also take part in special activities for Polychrome rewards.

And lastly, the update is also bringing a few system improvements, like:

• The new Polychrome Guide feature helps you track event rewards more easily.
• Improved resource and storage management.
• And a new auto-delete function.
