Artery Gear: Fusion, is one of the popular anime-style Sci-Fi gacha titles of BILIBILI HK. After spending a good deal of time in beta, the game finally showed itself for global release on 14th June 2022. It’s a turn-based RPG gacha game that sets itself in a post-apocalyptic world. Players are tasked to protect against puppets. Here in this article, we will review Artery Gear: Fusion and share our first impressions of the game.
Choose from a roster of female warriors and wage war on the battlefield
Starting off with the Artery Gear: Fusion review, the player is in charge of training up his recruits, taking new recruits in, and leading the battle to ensure victory. All these female warriors are different from each other but don’t surpass one another in an evident manner. Although the game stands out to be different from others, the core gameplay remains the same, which can be closely found similar to titles like Epic Seven or Summoners War.
Since this is a turn-based gacha title, there is nothing much to say about the game mechanics of the game. Players need to change their selection of warriors from time to time to ensure victory in the battle. Before using a card, a different animation effect, which differs from player to player, shows up. And oftentimes, that animation effect looks cool.
The character appearances, and character development, we would say is one of the aspects of this gacha title that makes it stand out from others. The game also offers some other features which made the game stand out amongst other gacha titles. The AFK auto-repeat feature allows players to go through a stage in a repeated manner. What’s more, is that the grind continues even after the application is closed.
Survive the apocalyptic puppet war between the Frontier and the Autoluna
The warriors are the only female characters. The fans will have quite a lot of content to fully enjoy the beauty of the game. There is a significant amount of content that needs to be downloaded before starting the game. Going through the main story requires stamina. A total of eight stamina is required to do the normal and 12 stamina is required to do the hard ones.
The main story payouts are stars with different ranges. These stars are essential in upgrading the unit members and their efficiency. Players also need to do research to upgrade the recruits.
There are also some side-story missions/ events that show up from time to time. Some of the events are fun to accomplish, while some others might feel boring. The game also has an option to offer daily login rewards, and daily objectives to complete each day.
If you are bored of slow-paced battles, there is an option to change the battle speed, auto-battle, and battle prioritizations. If you are bored in between the story scene, there is an option for the story to keep going without any need for the player to tap the screen after every dialogue. Players can even skip out the whole story scene and get a summary at the end of what happened in between.
The game offers decent graphics with soothing Japanese music
Now let’s talk about the graphics aspect of the game. The graphics of this game are not as advanced as what someone would expect after hearing about all the exciting features the game has to offer. However, the developers didn’t let us down.
The overall graphics of the game are good and really enjoyable. The character art is really good in quality. The animation effects before initiating a turn also make the thing looks awesome. Glad to say that the UI is not as bad as you think. All the things are on the screen. Although sometimes it gets annoying to do something repeatedly which is a few screens behind, we would say the UI is pretty good.
The soft music of the game is also satisfactory. The game contains the audio files of the characters. The voices are in Japanese. If a player understands Japanese properly, he will surely be enjoying the game a lot. There are also subtitles so don’t fret.
The stamina system and grind fail the game big time
Well, not all the things are roses and no thorns. In the same way, Artery Gear is also not a stranger to faults and some aspects that players won’t like. The first point would be stamina regeneration. Actually, regenerating 1 stamina takes 5 minutes. Even after taking 5 minutes, it would be just 1 bar. As we have mentioned before, the stamina thing is no joke and it’s really important to have some all the time.
Since the graphics of the gameplay is really up to the mark, there is a good chance that the devices with low specs would have a hard time getting a hold of the game. Another aspect would be rewarded per main mission. Considering the economy of the game, players are mildly forced to focus on grinding. The rewards are simply not good enough for players to have a nice economy. And it’s not only the stars needed to upgrade. Player needs to have research keys to unlock different warriors.
Although the tutorial initially looks adequate, in the latter stages of the game, it feels like there are some lackings in the information/ instructions. A detailed official guide for this game is absolutely necessary for the players who are new to this genre. It is also reported among the players that sometimes they cannot connect to the server in spite of having a good internet connection, which is really frustrating.
