Is Mechafusion mode in PUBG Mobile the worst theme mode ever

The community is not satisfied with the current Mechafusion game mode!

In the current 3.2 version update of PUBG Mobile or BGMI, the game introduced the Mechafusion theme mode. For the first time, mechanized robots came to PUBG Mobile. But strangely, the mecha-fusion mode did not live up to the expectations of the PUBG Mobile players. This mode faced severe backlash on the internet from the players. In this article, we will discuss why the Mechafusion mode is arguably the worst-ever theme mode in PUBG Mobile or BGMI.

What is the Mechafusion mode in PUBG Mobile

Before getting into the topic, let’s discuss the basics of the Mechafusion mode. As the name suggests, this mode relies on robots, technologies, and stuff. In this mode, there are gigantic alien spaceships that roam around the map. The main feature of this mode is ‘Mechas’, which are humanoids or robots. We get certain utilities such as magnet guns, recall beacons, jetpacks, etc. in this mode. The last surviving player or squad in the mother ship gets the fully armored mecha, equipped with weapons like rocket launchers and magnet guns. At this point, it seems quite good right? Not so!

Why are PUBG Mobile players not liking the Mechafusion mode

After playing this mode multiple times by ourselves and taking opinions from fellow players, we have shortlisted some probable reasons that can show why the majority of the players do not like this mode at all.

1. Less number of recalls

In the previous theme modes like the Shadow Force and Skyhigh Spectacle, there was a total of 2 and 3 recall chances respectively for a player. Most of the players were used to it because they had played with this mindset for almost four months.

Suddenly, in this Mechafusion mode, there is only one recall chance. If the player lands on the mother-ship and gets eliminated quickly, then they will have only one life. And, if you do not land on the mother ship, your only chance of recall will be the recall tower unless you land on the Mecha-centres, where you might get a recall card or recall beacon.

Due to this sudden change, many players are getting eliminated quickly and it is affecting the F/D ratio. The chance of survival in the mother-ship is very low because firstly, it is a hot drop, and secondly, there are so many places where opponents can hide and finish you by surprise. It is one of the reasons why players are avoiding this mode.

2. Hidden players aka campers

As mentioned above, the number of campers or hidden players has increased quite significantly. The preferred landing locations like the mother-ships and mecha-centers have so many places where players hide to avoid getting finished quickly. Due to this, other players are getting a sudden surprise and getting finished by these campers.

In games like PUBG Mobile or BGMI, camping is not illegal or against the ethics of the game, many people even call it ‘Tactical holding’. But if we see this from a suffering player’s perspective, who is getting finished by a camper every 3 out of 5 matches, it will create frustration. It is one of the biggest reasons why players dislike this Mechafusion mode.

3. Overpowered Mechas

The main attraction of this mode is the giant mechanized robots called the ‘Levitrons’. The last standing players of the mother-ships get these massive-sized robots. These mechas have weapons like rocket launchers and magnet guns. It can perform high jumps. As per the players, these robots are too powerful and hard to deal with for players, who are on the land or inside of a building.

Firstly, players find these very difficult to shoot down due to their heavy health points and high speed. Secondly, even if a player starts shooting at it with guns, they can easily finish them by stomping or lifting them using the magnet gun.

Players even feel that they are getting bullied by these mechas, because they appear out of nowhere and finish them. They are not safe even behind hardcovers like trees or rocks because they can shoot rockets from their arms. Due to this, many players are avoiding this mode and playing normal classic mode matches in Miramar and Livik maps.

4. Fewer players in the last zones make it boring

PUBG Mobile introduced these theme modes to bring interest among the players. But due to these aforementioned reasons, the player counts in the last zones are getting very low. The high spawn rate of bots in the first two circles and less number of recalls resulting a low player count in the final circles. Due to this reason, players are losing interest in this mode because eventually, these are affecting their F/D ratio and statistics. That’s why players are preferring maps like Livik and Karakin where the player count is higher than in the Mechafusion mode.

5. Nothing to explore in Mechafusion

In this Mechafusion mode, the number of things to explore on the map is very low. There are only two proper hot drops and four mecha-centers. At some point, it is becoming quite monotonous for the players. After the initial stage, there is almost nothing to explore on the map. If we take the example of the previous theme mode, which was the ‘Skyhigh Spectacle’, there were many engaging activities for the players. This is one of the reasons for the less interest from the players.

6. Bugs and glitches are ruining the fun

Although it is not unusual, it seems like the amount of glitches in the Mechafusion mode keeps increasing day by day. Players are getting finished out of nowhere, parachutes are not opening on time, which is resulting in fall damage. The servers of the game fluctuate almost all the time. The ping MS always stays high in this mode. Despite multiple assurances from the publishers, it is still not getting fixed.

The dissatisfaction among the fans is visible, if we go to the comment sections of any social media posts of BGMI or PUBG Mobile, we will see that players are complaining about the Mechafusion mode and asking it to be removed.

Final Thoughts

The Mechafusion mode is about to get removed from the game. The new ocean-based Atlantis mode is showing great signs as of now. There are lots of things in that theme mode that can once again attract dissatisfied players. We are hoping that Krafton will take lessons from this theme mode and bring necessary tweaks to the upcoming mode, which will eventually be great for both the game and the players.
