After a long wait, Activision is finally planning to start COD Mobile Esports on a large scale. Call of Duty Mobile had its global launch back in October 2019. And since then the Call of Duty fans are eagerly waiting for the esports scene to kick off in the mobile version. Although there were some small-scale tournaments like COD Mobile World Championship, this time, Activision has arrived with a specialized YouTube channel for COD Mobile Esports which definitely hints at the seriousness.
Activision teases Call of Duty Mobile Esports with a teaser
Just some time ago, Call of Duty Mobile’s official Twitter handle tweeted the teaser of the upcoming esports scene with the hashtag #WeAreCODM where they are inviting competitors around the globe.
The 28 seconds teaser did not reveal anything except the fact that the COD Mobile esports is about to start. However, one thing to note that Activision did mention “Tradition” which was born last year. And with this, they probably meant the COD Mobile World Championship of 2020.
Back in April 2020, Activision had tied up with Sony to present COD Mobile World Championship with a total prize pool of $1 Million. That tournament was divided into few stages and had in-game qualifier rounds. Unfortunately, it did not reach the hype that it was supposed to. But hopefully, this time Activision is starting the COD Mobile esports like their PC counterpart.
When COD Mobile Esports will officially start
The teaser definitely hints at the official start of the COD Mobile esports on a large scale. Also, a new youtube channel that specifically caters to mobile esports adds to the seriousness of this upcoming operation. Although there are no official details of what will happen next, fans can definitely expect to see more information in the coming weeks.
