Niantic’s Pokémon GO has officially revealed its next major season, Forever Forward, bringing three months of new content, events, Pokémon debuts, and gameplay updates. The new season will run from June 2 to September 8, 2026, featuring GO Fest 2026, Mega Mewtwo’s arrival, new Dynamax Pokémon, GO Pass rewards, Egg hatches, and more.

Pokémon GO Fest 2026
As announced back in April, Pokémon GO Fest 2026 will be the top attraction as part of the season festivities. Taking place on July 11 and 12, 2026, this year’s GO Fest will revolve around Mewtwo and Zeraora, while also finally introducing Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y into Pokémon GO.
The global event will once again be free for all players logging in during the event weekend, giving you access to Special Research, bonuses, and boosted Shiny encounters. Alongside the global event, in-person GO Fest events are planned for Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen.
Mega Evolutions and Dynamax Pokémon arrivals
The season also adds more Mega Evolution content through upcoming Mega Raid Days. While Niantic hasn’t confirmed all the Pokémon yet, more Mega debuts are planned throughout Forever Forward.
On the Dynamax side, Dynamax Electabuzz, Dynamax Magikarp, and Dynamax Feebas are joining Max Battles this season. These Pokémon will appear at Power Spots during special Max Battle rotations. Max Mondays are also returning, bringing extra Power Spots and rotating Dynamax encounters every week.
GO Pass rewards and progression updates
The GO Pass system returns this season as a progression track where you complete Pass Tasks to earn GO Points and unlock rewards. A paid GO Pass Deluxe version will also be available for upgraded rewards and faster progression.
Seasonal milestone bonuses include extra Candy from trades, increased Gift storage limits, longer Daily Adventure Incense duration, and increased XP and Stardust from hatching Eggs.
Daily Discoveries and Community Days refreshed
Forever Forward also updates the Daily Discoveries system. Scenic Sunday replaces Double-Time Sunday and focuses more on Routes, giving you more Pokémon encounters and Route bonuses while exploring.
Showcase Tuesday is also changing, allowing you to enter up to five PokéStop Showcases. Community Days for the season are scheduled for June 20, July 4, and August 16. Research Breakthrough encounters this season include Pokémon like Dragonite, Axew, Honedge, Jangmo-o, Indeedee, and Klawf, while Egg pools are rotating again across multiple Egg distances.
