The Government of India is taking esports to a new height by promoting the sport. The Indian government announced the launch of the Create in India Challenge where multiple initiatives including an esports event will be featured. As part of the initiative, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), eFootball Mobile, and World Cricket Championship 3 will be featured in an esports event by the Esports Federation of India.
Create in India Challenge will feature a series of events including esports
The Create in India Challenge will showcase multiple challenges. There will be Anime Challenges, Animation Filmmakers Competition, Game Jam, Esports tournaments, City Quest, etc. The esports event will showcase three of India’s favorite titles.
There’s a qualifier that is going to take place before the grand final in Goa, India. It will take place in four phases, starting the initial one from the 1st of September 2024. Besides, registration for these stages will take place on four dates: the 23rd of August, the 1st and the 18th of September, and the 4th of October. Here’s the detailed schedule:

Both games will host 1v1 matches. Each phase will send 15 players, making a total of 60 qualified, and then 4 international invited players will join. A total of 64 will be competing in the event.
BGMI
The most loved battle royale in India will feature, following the other events of BGMI, 16 teams. Three teams from each phase will be taken to the Grand Finals in Goa. With the inclusion of 4 invited teams, there will be 16 total teams.
The current generation of India is highly motivated by digital entertainment
The current generation of India has accepted digital entertainment in a new and creative way. As the top-level support from the state is also encouraging them, the rise is expected to touch the sky. And, the Create in India Challenge is just the beginning.
Besides, content creation in this industry also became a career option for them. The youths are thinking outside the box, far away from the social taboo of choosing a profession in the Indian subcontinent. However, the initiative taken by the Government of India will be worth watching to see its impact on the whole generation.
Indian government in esports: BGMI will be the center of attraction
The inaugural season of the government-backed Create in India Challenge event will feature the domestic powerhouses and invite overseas teams to compete in the esports tournament. This will be a part of international collaboration, and leveling up the competition. There will be 12 Indian teams along with 4 international teams. Apart from that, the titles are also at the peak of attention and will ensure a competitive, and harmonic battle to be staged in Goa.
The Indian government has always been kind to the esports scene and has taken several initiatives for its betterment. Now, with the dates coming to make the dream possible, fans will be eagerly waiting to witness the classic battles from the top-tier teams.
