- The game ran for seven years since its launch on November 17, 2017
- An offline version of the game is in the making; details in October
- Pocket Camp will have upcoming games Astaweave Haven and Floatopia to fill the void
In what is a shocking announcement, the makers of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp have announced that the simulation title will shut down on November 28, 2024. However, a flat-fee paid app is currently in development, allowing players to transfer their save data after the service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp ends.
The details on the offline version of Pocket Camp will be shared around October 2024
It is pretty disappointing to note that the game is coming to a close seven years after its launch on November 21, 2017. The game was pretty fun to play thanks to its charming, laid-back gameplay, and still had a fair share of players experiencing it.
As the official confirmation has said, the service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is set to end on November 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM UTC. Events and new items will continue to be added until the service concludes. Now, to fill the void, the offline version is coming, but details about this new version are expected to be shared around October 2024.
Apart from the removal of certain features such as Leaf Tickets, Pocket Camp Club subscriptions, Market Boxes, gifts, and visiting other players’ campsites, there will be no change to the basic gameplay and controls in this version. We can expect this to go live before or on the day of shut shutdown of the original.
With the shut down of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the genre will surely see new games emerging to fill the gap. HoYoverse is coming with one, titled Astaweave Haven, but we are yet to see the gameplay for this one. However, another game I had compared to Pocket Camp was the recently announced Floatopia, which ticks all the boxes you need to get a beautiful life simulator.
