Developments are starting to come in thick and fast for Mobile Legends Professional League Indonesia Season 8 as Jakarta-based esports organization EVOS Legends announced their roster for season 8 of MPL-ID.
Return of a familiar face
Defending champions EVOS legends have added two fresh faces to their already existing lineup. The roster also features the return of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang veteran Muhammad “Wann” Ridwan. Although Wann had taken part in the first week of MPL ID season 7, he announced that he would be taking a short break from the eSports scene, citing personal reasons. His return provides a big boost for EVOS Legends, who are looking to defend their title at Indonesia’s biggest MLBB esports tournament, which is set to kick off on August 13.
Besides Wann’s return, two new players, Panser and Rhapsody, also made the cut for the EVOS Legends roster. Panser and Rhapsody are said to be extremely promising. There will certainly be a few eyes on the duo to see if they can make an immediate impression in the tournament.
The team also features former Aura Fire member Vaanstrong, who specializes as a midlaner. Vaanstrong is set to be a like-for-like replacement for Ihsan Besari “Luminare” Kusudana, the team’s former midlaner, who continues to be absent from the roster after he also skipped MSC 2021. Luminare was considered to be arguably the best MLBB player in Indonesia and played a pivotal role in EVOS Legends’ victory last year. Vaanstrong has big shoes to fill and there will certainly be a lot of scrutiny around his performances as the tournament progresses.
