Mobile Legends: MPL-PH Season 9 set to organize offline matches

The tournament will be held offline from its fifth week

The MPL-PH Season 9 is going to start on February 18 and the great news for fans is that the Games’ Amusement Board has approved the decision to host offline matches of the upcoming season. The first four weeks of the tournament will be held online and from the fifth week, the group matches will start which will be held offline. 

The Philippines’ largest newspaper Manila Bulletin has confirmed that Moonton Games Public Relations Manager for the Philippines, Keith Niño Medrano has emailed them saying that the league has decided to go on-site starting from the fifth week. MPL-PH Season 9 kicks off on February 18 with M3 Grand Finals protagonists Blacklist International and Onic Philippines battling it out in the curtain-raiser.

MPL-PH season 9 offline matches to bring back the fun and excitement

MPL-PH is still finalizing the plans and setup of the event and is expected to make an official announcement in the upcoming weeks. The tournament which starts on February 18 will be held online for the first four weeks and then from the fifth week, it will go offline. 

Moonton Games Public Relations Manager for the Philippines, Keith Niño Medrano said, “The health and safety of our players, partners, and staff are of paramount importance. Given the current situation with the pandemic, we decided to keep the first four weeks online. This also follows the guidelines set by the local government.

He further said, “We received approval to go on-site during Week 5, until the playoffs, while strictly adhering to the safety protocols such as having swab tests and limiting the number of personnel entering the venue.” “There will also be a roving safety officer to ensure everyone follows the rules. We’ll also isolate potential causes, and share safety and sanitation kits with all attendees,” shared Medrano.

The organizers have reaffirmed that they will be following all the standard Covid 19 protocols and they are responsible for the health of all the staff and personnel. 

MPL-PH Season 9 going offline is great news for players who will be finally able to return to the arena and feel the energy that makes esports so much fun and exciting. However, there will be no audience in the events because the pandemic is not fully over yet.
