Team X Spark BGMI lineup disbanded again in 2022 following internal issues

Gill rumoured to join GodLike Esports

The star-studded BGMI lineup of Team X Spark has been disbanded again in 2022 following the rise of some internal issues as confirmed by players Scout and Mavi, and also by the organization. Formed in the later months of 2021, the team immediately saw a string of consistent performances, including top 5 finishes in almost every tournament they played in and even winning the unofficial Thug Invitational Season 4 tournament two days prior to the team disband. Here we will look at possible reasons behind this decision and what lies in the immediate future of the players.

The organization Team X Spark was created by popular gaming content creator and BGMI competitive player Tanmay “Scout” Singh and he has been the one responsible for bearing the cost of basic amenities and salaries of the players. The current BGMI lineup came into existence when owner Scout himself and Mavi left Team SouL and formed the lineup with Gill and Ultron.

Recently, Ultron was replaced by Viru to recreate the old squad of Orange Rock which secured a second-place finish in PMWL East in 2020. As Scout himself admitted, there weren’t enough resources to provide every bit of amenities required, including a boot camp and content creation opportunities.

There were no brand deals, sponsors, or any kind of external funding to keep the team going as Scout bore all expenses alone aided by his “partner” Mavi. This apparently caused some dissent in Gill who then decided that his best interests lie in going to another team with stable resources. Following this, Viru also announced that he won’t stick around if Gill left, as confirmed by Mavi. Thus the squad got disbanded with Mavi and Scout reportedly preparing to bring together a new team with the available resources.

Rumours surrounding player futures

As of now, there are very strong rumors of Gill joining TX rivals GodLike Esports, who is also lauded as one of the best teams in the country. But this might not be the case as GodLike member Ghatak added in his livestream that they will indeed be getting a player but it is someone that no one has guessed yet. As for Viru, he reportedly has a few teams in mind and will be looking for opportunities to join them.

Both Gill and Viru being well accomplished and proven players will not have much difficulty in finding a new team and resuming their esports careers. As for Mavi and Scout, they plan to remain together and will let the audience know of their next step in the coming days.

Final thoughts

We can only feel sorry for the amateur end to such an amazing lineup with the potential to be the best team in the country. Leaving aside the hassle of finding new teams, there is also the issue of building the appropriate synergy with the players of a new team. Overall, this can mean the beginning of either a new and better journey in their careers or recurring issues which come with the formation of every new team. We hope for the best and wish good luck to all the players involved.
