The PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Spring 2022 for the Western Europe region concluded yesterday after a spirited performance from the China-based Tong Jia Bao(TJB) Esports, earning them the title of champions.
PMPL Western Europe Spring 2022: TJB Esports’s journey to the top
TJB Esports, a newcomer to the global PUBG Mobile esports scene following their relative success with their lineup in PEL in China and earning a spot in the last PMGC, said that they are not to be taken lightly. Despite the lineup being new and this PMPL their first official A-tier tournament as a squad, they performed as a team seamlessly and took down other favorites such as Unicorns of Love to clinch the title.
The players, notably GK1ST, put in a fantastic show of gameplay and determination to make the teamwork and do what it takes to be the new champion. Overall, it is an excellent start to TJB’s PUBG Mobile journey, and worth looking forward to more such performances from the team. The winners, TJB Esports, took home a prize amount of $14,500. Runner-up and 3rd placed Giants Gaming and Eastern Stars, respectively, bagged $13,000 and $11,000 each.
The top 8 teams are directly qualified for the EU Spring Championship. However, the bottom eight will have to participate in the PMPL WEU Fall 2022 to secure a top-eight finish to move on into the finals next time. This will all build-up to the annual PUBG Mobile Global Championship or the PMGC, the biggest and most prestigious tournament in the game’s esports system with a staggering prize pool. So teams are giving all it takes to be there, which would be a huge honor.
The conclusion of the PMPL WEU yesterday means that we are still only barely halfway through the PUBG Mobile esports calendar. With many more tournaments to come and the annual PMGC waiting, there will be more news and winners, all of which will be updated here.
