To conclude the Philippines Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Summer Season, Veni Vedi Vici Esports or VVV Esports clinches first place in the Mindanao region with an impressive 5-1 score and make it to the tournament’s playoffs this upcoming June 4 and 5.
Veni Vedi Vici in Latin translates to “I came, I saw, I conquered.” and that is exactly what the team did in their region’s tournament. Along with them, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) finished in second place with a 5-1 score to make it to the tournament’s playoffs as well. UCE and Tyrant Gaming fought alongside the two teams but were unfortunately not able to join the playoffs.
Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Summer Season group stage – Philippines, Mindanao: As it happened
Both qualifying teams RRQ and VVV Esports, finished with a 5-1 score to secure them a total of 375,000 Globe Cup Points, while UCE finished with a 2-4 score for a total of 150,000 Globe Cup Points. Tyrant Gaming finished with a 0-6 score and was not able to take home any prize from the said tournament. The Globe Cup Points can be converted into cash prizes by the end of the tournament.
Compared to all the regions, VVV Esports had it easy to secure their region’s 1st place since RRQ was not able to contest for the said position due to unforeseen circumstances. However, we can’t ignore the fact that the team showed up big time among all their competition to win the region’s championship. After the tournament, they were interviewed and asked who they treat the most threat for the upcoming playoffs. VVV Esports simply said that they look at everyone as a threat and are preparing for all the qualified teams. RRQ meanwhile, said that they see Team Secret, a qualifying team from the North Luzon, as the most threatful team in the playoffs.
Playoffs are on the way
As mentioned before, the tournament’s playoffs will be happening soon on June 4 and 5. The qualifying teams will be Team Secret and Nexplay Esports from the North Luzon region, Omega Esports and Liyab Esports from the South Luzon region, Amihan Esports and Fennel Adversity from Visayas region and, VVV Esports and RRQ for the Mindanao region. Fans are in for some fiery action from the Philippines’ strongest Wild Rift teams!
