Cookie Run: Kingdom Espresso Cookie Guide: How to unlock, Best Toppings, and more

Tips to use the Espresso Cookie efficiently!

Espresso Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom is a popular choice in Guild Battle, Arena, and World Exploration. He’s one of the best cookies for the Living Abyss boss in Guild Battle since he helps push back the monster’s slime away from your team. Additionally, the top Arena players tend to use him in a team with Vampire Cookie, Financier Cookie, Caramel Arrow Cookie, and Cream Unicorn Cookie.

Since he’s so useful all over the game, it’s good to get him as soon as you can, and use the proper Topping builds for him. If you’re lucky, you can get him from the Cookie Gacha from time to time. Otherwise, you can buy his soulstones in the Mileage Shop and his soulstones of him might pop up in the Arena Medal Shop, Guild Shop, or Rainbow Shell Gallery.

He also has two stages in Dark Mode and a special stage in Master Mode (stage 1-3) where you can farm his soul cores. (Note that soul cores are different from soulstones.) Once you get him, you should try getting his Magic Candy as soon as you can.

The Espresso Cookie’s skill is great for crowd control. He targets multiple enemies at once, stalls them, and pushes them away from your team. This makes him a good choice for World Exploration, where there are big crowds of enemies. He also interrupts the enemy cookie’s skill, which is a good bonus to have in Arena. Since his damage greatly increases the higher your Skill Level, you should try to constantly upgrade his Skill Level when you can.

Espresso Cookie’s Magic Candy can be obtained as soon as you level him to Level 50. Note that you’ll have to manually level him up since a cookie being put in the Hall of Ancient Heroes but still having an actual level of 49 or below wouldn’t be counted.

His Magic Candy has numerous added effects. A Level 1 candy provides a big damage boost, as well as an Injury debuff. Injury is a debuff that decreases an enemy’s maximum HP for a limited time, which means they won’t be able to heal back as efficiently. Since Injury can stack, you want Espresso to use his skill as frequently as possible, and having some spare CD substats on his toppings would be useful.

The most recommended Magic Candy is Level 10 since a Level 10 candy unlocks the Stun effect for Espresso. It’s useful in Arena since being able to Stun the enemy team means you can use another skill while they’re stunned and defenseless.

It’s also a good effect for Guild Battle, specifically for the Living Abyss boss, since your main goal is to keep the enemy boss’s slime away from your cookies during the time frame.

Espresso Cookie is a powerful attacker, so the best topping set for him is Searing Raspberries.

Searing Raspberries

Using a full Searing Raspberry topping set on Espresso Cookie gives him the highest amount of ATK possible.

Players should note that a single maxed Epic Searing Raspberry topping provides 9% ATK, and the maximum ATK substat you can get on a topping is 3%. This means that the highest attack boost you can get purely from toppings is 60%. However, since Espresso Cookie has a fragile base stat, most players would try to put as many DMG Resist substats on him as they can. A good DMG Resist substat is 25% or more, especially if you’re planning to use him in Arena.

Since one of the main focuses is DMG Resist, you might have a lower ATK percentage on Espresso than expected. Still, try to add as many ATK and CRIT substats as you can on him, and aim for some extra CD too.
