eFootball 2026 Frank Beckenbauer Manager Guide: Best formations, instructions, and tactics

The better manager option?

Frank Beckenbauer is one of the greats in both the player and managerial positions in football history, and eFootball 2026 has brought in plenty of his Epic cards, while the Manager treatment has also been excellent when it comes to him.

With the Manager version of his coming with the Breakthrough Pass B Link-up Playstyle, we have plenty to experiment with the tactics as well as Link-up. So here’s the guide you need to understand Frank Beckenbauer and get the best formations, instructions, and tactics of the Manager in eFootball 2026.

eFootball 2026 Frank Beckenbauer Manager Guide: Introduction

An offering for 750 coins, Beckenbauer arrived during the National Teams campaign. He gets the Breakthrough Pass B Link-up Playstyle, and instead of building from deep like some other managers, this setup pushes the responsibility into midfield.

Your Box-to-Box CMF becomes the main trigger. When that midfielder gets on the ball in the attacking half, your Goal Poacher starts making runs, and the passes you play into those runs feel a bit sharper, especially through balls and small chipped passes.

If you’ve used Fabio Capello, you’ll notice there is a slight difference. Capello’s system depends a lot on an Orchestrator sitting deep and picking out long passes early. Beckenbauer feels more involved higher up the pitch since the Box-to-Box midfielder is constantly part of the move rather than just starting it.

On top of that, you get +1 boosts to Dribbling and Defensive Awareness, and he fits both Long Ball Counter and Long Ball.

Best formations using Franz Beckenbauer in eFootball 2026

I recommend two formations that will come in handy for both Long Ball Counter and Long Ball.

1. 4-2-2-2

The 4-2-2-2 works really well with him because it naturally puts your midfielders in the right areas. The DMF sits and does the defensive work, while the three ahead are free to move and combine. Hole Player is at AMF to connect your passes in an alternate path, taking away the Link-up.

Your Box-to-Box CMF ends up being everywhere, picking the ball up, carrying it forward, and then slipping passes into your strikers. Since you’re playing with two forwards, it’s easier to take advantage of those runs, especially if one of them is a proper Goal Poacher.

2. 5-3-2/5-2-1-2

Another two CF option here, but the 5-2-1-2 is more about safety at the back. You still get the same link-up between midfield and attack, but with three centre-backs behind, you’re less worried about getting caught on counters. Use an Anchorman + Box-to-Box combo here.

You can also try an Anchor+B2B+Orcherstrator combo, and have Deep Lying Playmaker at CF as well next to the Goal Poacher. The CF + CMF combo helps connect things, but most of the time, you’ll still see your B2B CMF driving the move forward before releasing the pass.

Player Recommendations and Key Stats

Centrepiece (Box-to-Box CMF)

This role is where everything starts, and if this player isn’t right, you’ll feel it immediately. They need to be active, always moving into space and available for the ball. Passing is important, but what matters more is how quickly they can release it once they receive it.

If they hold onto the ball too long, the runs ahead of them are wasted. So both Passing and on-the-ball numbers, especially Tight Possession and Ball Control, should be around 90s.

Recommended Skills: Through Passing, Weighted Pass, One Touch Pass

Key Man (Goal Poacher/CF)

Key Man finishes most of your moves. You’ll notice that runs become easier to pick out in this setup, but it still depends on your timing. If your striker has good awareness, they’ll naturally position themselves well for those through balls.

Ball trapping matters a lot here because most chances come from quick passes rather than slow buildup, so you don’t always get a second chance. So heavy strikers are not dependable to take advantage of this, so make sure you have good Ball Control for your forward.

Recommended Skills: First Time Shot, Sole Control, Fighting Spirit, Long Range Shooting
