These places on the map are POIs like Titled Tower or Rave Cave. These places are some of the major POIs in Fortnite island and they are abundant with loot spawning areas.

But when aiming down the sights of this weapon, the damage increases, at the cost of the DPS and fire rate. The weapon was originally added as part of the Skywalker Week mini-event. Although it looks like it will likely last beyond this event, with the season having only about a month left, it would make sense that the weapon could stay in the loot pool until then.
