In Genshin Impact for getting the desired stats for a character, the player needs to get the right combination of artifacts and weapons. Players can obtain weapons much more easily than getting the desired artifacts with the desired stats. Players should not start farming artifacts before hitting Adventure Rank 45 as before AR 45 per run (20 resin) 5* artifact drop isn’t guaranteed. Only after hitting AR 45, 5* artifact drops are guaranteed. Players would get at least one 5* artifact of the two artifact sets of the domain.
Artifacts in Genshin Impact
There are a total of five types of Artifacts:
- Flower: The main stat of this piece is always flat HP.
- Plume: The main stat of this piece is always flat attack.
- Sands: The main stat of this piece can be HP percentage, attack percentage, elemental mastery, energy recharge, and defense percentage.
- Goblet: The main stat of this piece can be HP percentage, attack percentage, elemental mastery, energy recharge, defense percentage or elemental damage bonus, or physical damage bonus.
- Circlet: The main stat of this piece can be HP percentage, attack percentage, elemental mastery, energy recharge, defense percentage, or crit rate/damage.
Selecting the Artifact sets for characters in Genshin Impact
Depending on the role of the character, element, and stats on which their skills power up, the artifact sets may vary. For example, in the case of Jean:
1. Selecting Stats
- If she is the healer of the team: Jean’s heal scales off her attack, so the sands, goblet, and circlet should have attack percentage as the main stat.
- If she is DPS/sub-DPS: Jean’s damage also scales off her attack but damage also needs to have a balanced ratio of crit rate and damage. So, the main stats should be attack percentage, anemo damage bonus/ attack percentage, and crit rate/damage in the sands, goblet, and circlet respectively.
2. Selecting the Artifact Sets
- If she supports DPS: 4-piece Noblesse Oblige is one of the best sets one can give a supporting character as it increases the attack of the whole team. Players can also use the Emblem of Severed Fate set.
- If she is sub-DPS: 2-piece Noblesse and 2-piece viridescent veneer.
Like this, for all characters, the players need to check how the skill damage and effects scale. Which stats are important for the particular character? And then need to decide based on those which artifacts they need to farm and which stats they need to prioritize.
Leveling up the Artifacts
Players should not just level up an artifact based on just the main stat. Players need to make sure the artifact has good sub-stats. Sub-stats are also very important. If an artifact doesn’t have the desired sub-stat then, players should not waste mora on bad artifacts.
Best Artifact domains to farm in Genshin Impact
There are seven artifact domains. Each artifact domain gives two types of 5* artifact drops. Artifact of which of two sets would be dropped is completely random. Players should prioritize farm domains in which both the artifact sets could be utilized and should farm the domains with only 1 useful artifact set later. As the drops are random and there would be situations where players would be spending lots of time and resources in a domain and would not be getting the desired artifact sets.
The best artifact domain is Momiji-Dyed Court. In this domain, Emblem of Severed Fate and Shimenawa Reminiscence is the possible drops. Both of these artifact sets are of great use. Emblem of Severed Fate is the best artifact for sub-DPS characters and Shimenawa Reminiscence is great for main DPS characters.
Another nice artifact domain with 2 nice artifact sets is Peak of Vindagnyr. The two available artifact sets are Heart of Depth and Blizzard Slayers. If players have both cryo and hydro characters then this domain is great for them.
Best Artifacts to spend your Resin on in Genshin Impact
The following artifacts are not bad, they are great sets but there is a better way to get these artifacts than using time and resins for these artifacts.
- Gladiator’s Finale and Wanderer’s Troupe: Both of these artifacts are great sets and can be obtained from weekly bosses and world bosses. The drop rate is very poor and1 a 5* artifact isn’t guaranteed in each 20-resin spent. A better way to obtain these 2 sets is by using the artifact strongbox where players can get 1 of these artifacts in exchange for 3 5* artifacts of any set.
- Noblesse Oblige: This is also a great artifact set, but it is obtained from the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern domain and there is a 50% chance of getting a noblesse artifact or bloodstained chivalry. The Bloodstained Chivalry isn’t a great artifact set. So, instead of farming the domain, players can obtain the Noblesse artifacts from the artifact strongbox. This is a more efficient way.
Though using the artifact box seems like a waste of resin but in the long run, players can feel that they would be getting too many bad artifacts, and using them in the artifact box is a great choice.
Note:Â Mora required for leveling up an artifact from level 1-16 is the same as mora required to level up an artifact from level 16-20. And on using a leveled-up artifact to level up another artifact, players get only 90% worth of artifact experience for leveling up.
Final Thoughts
Players might face situations where they won’t have good artifacts with good main stats and sub-stats of desired artifact set. But players might have way better artifact stats of some other sets that are not recommended sets for a particular character. In those situations, the characters might be more effective with the other artifact set than the recommended one.
