Kingdom Maker Beginners Guide and Tips

Rebuild a kingdom and restore its former glory!

Scopely is the mobile game developer known for publishing titles like Marvel Strike Force, Star Trek Fleet Command, WWE Champions, etc. Now, the devs have come out with a new strategy, role-playing game known as Kingdom Maker. It is an entertaining, time-killing game, which came out a few days ago. This beginners guide will help you get started and explain what Kingdom Maker is all about. Without further delay, let’s get into it.

Gameplay Overview

The story of this game is a very typical story. Like other games, in this genre, Kingdom Maker involves an heir to a ruined kingdom. We receive news that a relative of ours has left us their kingdom to take over. But when we get there, we can see that the kingdom is in ruins. Everything is destroyed, and the kingdom has been completely taken over by orcs.

We have to drive the orcs out, take over and rebuild the kingdom into a prosperous one. We have to restore it to its former glory. This game offers a fair bit of customization to the players. We can play as a male or female character, and we can also choose our partner’s looks. There are different body types including faces, hair, and skin color. This sort of variety is always appreciated in games. It helps players to express themselves in whatever way they want.

Introducing the basics of Kingdom Maker

The gameplay of Kingdom Maker is pretty straightforward. It is a mix of Fallout Shelter and Clash Of Clans. Base-building is for getting all the production facilities into place. The Clash Of Clans element also comes in when we are tasked with defeating the orc armies that have spread across the country. It involves us commanding an army full of brave warriors, that we train back in our castle.

Yes, we train our own army, including infantry and cavalry units. Not only that, we can see our battle happening in life, like those mobile game ads out there. No misleading advertisement here! Once we start a battle, a small Swords clashing icon appears above the area, and if we choose to see what is going on, we can watch the battle, as it takes place. The quality of animation here is excellent and is surprisingly smooth as well.

1. Raising a Family

We can also choose to have kids with our partner, like in Fallout Shelter. But here, instead of sending the dwellers to a separate room, we just make them interact with each other, and as the interaction progresses, a little one is born. Further, we can make them the heir of the kingdom.

2. Choices

In Kingdom Maker, we have a lot of choices. We can choose how certain scenarios play out and can choose what kind of ruler we become, among many other things. So, there is never any shortage of activities in the game.

3. PVP Element

Once we have progressed enough, we can join other players’ clans/alliances. These alliances can help us battle tougher foes together.

Understanding the in-game Resources

The game has six important resources. They are as follows:

  • Gold: Can be found in Daily Deals, Objectives, and Quests. The premium currency of Kingdom Maker.
  • Silver: Obtained primarily from taxes paid by our kingdom’s population and from trading posts. Can also be found in loot rewards and by performing different map activities.
  • Food: Obtained primarily from farms and plots. Can also be found in loot rewards or by performing different map activities, just like Silver.

  • Stone: Obtained from the Stonemason. This building can be upgraded to increase the output of this resource. Very important for constructing buildings.
  • Wood: Like stone, it is also a very important element of construction. Can be primarily obtained from the Sawmill, and the Sawmill can be upgraded to increase the output.
  • Population: perhaps the most important resource for the development of our kingdom. The resource that is necessary for upgrading buildings and other structures.

Mastering your Champions

Champions are special characters. They are equipped with buffs that can strengthen our entire army. These champions can be equipped using a currency known as Champion Equip Token. When drafting these Champions into your army, make sure to pick one according to the army you have trained, as different heroes provide buffs to different aspects of the army.

Kingdom Maker Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

Here are some of our tips in our Kingdom Maker Beginners Guide to help you, newbies, to kickstart your journey.

  • Always keep your resource buildings in production mode. Never let them sit idle.
  • Once you have trained your army and use them, immediately queue up another batch, so that you can instantly attack after logging back on.
  • Avoid drafting Champions in your army that do not provide buffs to your force. Even if the champion is a lower tier, if they provide better buffs to your army than a higher tier champion, they are always a better choice.

So go ahead and give it a try! If you find trouble, don’t hesitate to fall back on this Kingdom Maker Beginners Guide for tips.
