One of the most exciting additions is the new Annual Map Change update, featuring lots of exciting new battlefield Maps for all players to enjoy. In this article, we’ll be taking a close look at all the available maps in the Project Next 2025 Annual Map Change update, as well as Tips and tricks for playing in these maps.
MLBB Project Next 2025 Annual Map Gameplay Overview
This year’s Project Next Update is introducing lots of exciting gameplay features to enchant the gaming experience for all players. The new Map features happen to be one of the most notable additions, as it allows players to explore different strategies before drafting their heroes in each Classic/Ranked/Rising Open match. The new Maps featured in this new exciting update are highlighted below:

- Broken Walls: Multiple obstacles on the map become thinned or broken, making them easier to pass through. Heroes without movement skills can now move more freely. Walls around Jungle objectives like Purple buff, Turtle, and Lord Pit are also affected by this Broken Walls effect.
- Dangerous Grass: Existing bushes on the map are extended and new ones are added, providing more opportunities for ambush. The bushes in this mode are also much longer and thicker, with some bushes appearing in new, surprising places.
- Expanding Rivers: The accelerated River Current has a wider range and longer duration. The Lord’s spawn and death also generate an accelerated River Current, allowing heroes to participate more conveniently in contests for neutral map objectives.
- Flying Cloud: Two Flying Clouds have been added to the Base. Heroes can ride the clouds to return to lanes faster or flank enemies during Base attacks. This can be essential, especially during late-game fights, allowing you to catch up with your team after Respawning.
Tips to remember while playing the new Maps in Mobile Legends
To make the best out of these new Gameplay maps, you must know some interesting strategies to implement when you’re matched up. We’d be highlighting some fun strategies to note:

- 1 out of the 4 maps is randomly chosen at the start of each match, so choose your heroes accordingly.
- Broken Walls Map is good for ganking and invading the enemy’s jungle early on. The Dangerous Grass Map is best for ambushing and camping enemies.
- In the Broken Walls Map, coordinate with your allied roamer and Mage to assist you in invading enemy buffs or as a countermeasure to prevent being invaded. It is also advisable to prioritize clearing out your main jungle creeps first before anything else.
- The Dangerous Grass Map is best for Assassins and Oneshot heroes, allowing them to successfully camp and shut down the enemy. Using Heroes like Saber, Eudora, Helcurt, Kadita, and Hilda will totally give the enemy PTSD in the lane.

- As a countermeasure for the Dangerous Grass Map, it is best to prioritize playing safe and not overextending. It’s also best to go with a tanky Comp, including heroes that provide map vision like Yin Sun-Shin and Novaria, as it’d help reduce Ganks.
- Utilize the broad River current in the Expanding Rivers map to seamlessly rotate across the map. This map allows even low-mobility heroes the much-needed boost to move across lanes to help teammates. Therefore, as a gold or exp laner, you could use this to your team’s advantage, rotating to losing side-lanes or to assist in major Turtle/Lord contests.
- Using High mobility heroes like Irithel, Benedetta, Joy, or Zilong could make things more annoying for enemies to deal with in the Expanding Rivers map. You could also utilize the movement speed boost to push lanes, making it viable for heroes like Sun to apply constant Lane pressure.
- Utilize the Clouds in the Flying Cloud map to return to your lane quicker.
Final Thoughts
Adapting to these new gameplay changes gives players a competitive edge, whether through optimized rotations, new ambush routes, or enhanced team synergy. Therefore, practice consistently and use these tips to master the new Gameplay maps and secure victory.
