Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play MOBA game that reimagines Pokémon as an online battle arena. Like many free-to-play games, Pokémon Unite has in-app purchases and uses various currencies, some of which can be unlocked just by playing the game, while others must be purchased with real money. Let’s take a closer look at what Pokémon Unite has to offer with our Pokémon Unite currency guide.
Types of currency in Pokémon Unite
These are five major currencies in Pokémon Unite:
1. Aeos Gems
Aeos Gems is the premium currency for Pokémon Unite and can only be purchased in the Aeos Gems purchase menu with money. You can purchase these at any time to buy all of the items in the game.
2. Aeos Coins
Aeos Coins can only be obtained through battles or as rewards for events and other sources. There is a weekly cap of 2100 coins. Aeos coins can be used to purchase new Unite Licenses which permanently unlock each Pokémon for use in matches.
The Unite Licenses can be purchased in the Unite Battle Committee section of the shop. Players can buy Aeos Coin Boost Cards which can be found under ‘Items‘ in the Aeos Emporium. Players then need to enable the Boost card from the Item Box. This boost will double the number of Aeos coins earned for the duration.
Players can also receive additional one-time Aeos Coins rewards from completing Tutorials in the game.
3. Aeos Tickets
Aeos Tickets are obtained through ranked match season rewards, as well as from events and the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass becomes available once you reach Trainer Level 5. It can then be purchased for 490 Aeos Gems.
Aeos tickets are used for purchasing trainer cosmetic items from the Aeos Emporium section of the shop.
4. Fashion Tickets
Fashion Tickets are a second cosmetic currency that can only be used in the Fashion Ticket Exchange section of the Aeos Emporium. You can earn this Pokémon Unite currency through Energy Machine rolls or by completing events. Energy Machine rolls are unlocked once you reach Trainer Level 6.
5. Holowear Tickets
Holowear Tickets can only be earned through Energy Machine rolls. Holowear tickets can only be spent in the Zirco Trading section of the store.
