Reverse: 1999 Echoes in the Mountain Event Overview

The Echoes in the Mountain Event in Reverse: 1999 runs from June 20 to July 11, ending at 04:59 (UTC-5). To participate, players must have completed the main story, “Tender Is the Night.” Before starting a game, players must select their characters, choosing up to eight at the minimum difficulty level.

Once chosen, these characters cannot be changed until the adventure ends. In each battle, players can choose four characters to play.

How to play the Reverse: 1999 Echoes in the Mountain Event

To participate in the Echoes in the Mountain event, you should know a few key terms and concepts. Each of the four formation slots has a Willpower level, which affects the maximum Insight, Level, Resonate, and Psychubes of the characters. There are five difficulty levels, and you can only unlock the next one after clearing the previous one.

Higher difficulties offer more points but come with greater negative effects. Comradery is the main resource of the event and strengthens your team’s Willpower level. You will also collect Goldfinch Coins, which can be used to buy items in the Strange Stall, such as Artefacts, Rituals, Convalesce, Recruit Companion, and Boost Morale.

Artifacts are like equipment that supports your team, offering varied gameplay and strategies. Some Artefacts can be enhanced using a Ritual Disk. Obsession affects your character’s status, with different values leading to different effects.

It’s best to keep Obsession between 60 and 149. You will increase Obsession through combat (Minor Obstacle and Present Danger) and decrease it through Path Unknown (steady decrease) and Discovery (with probability).

Reverse: 1999 Echoes in the Mountain Event Guide: Tips and Tricks

Following these guidelines will ensure that you can progress smoothly, unlock hidden content, and optimize your team’s performance. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, these tips will provide valuable insights and help you excel in the Echoes in the Mountain event. Let’s dive in and explore how you can conquer this event with confidence and skill.

1. Play on the Normal Route

You should always choose the Normal Route when participating in the Echoes in the Mountain event. This route ensures that your characters’ levels are matched appropriately, making it easier to progress through the stages. Avoid taking other routes, as they can be more challenging and may prevent you from completing the event successfully.

2. Manage Different Endings

There are two types of endings you can achieve. The normal ending can be unlocked by simply clearing the level once. However, to unlock the hidden ending, you need to trigger a special event. Keep this in mind as you play, so you can aim to unlock both endings for a more complete experience.

3. Optimize your Strategy

You should utilize different modes of play depending on the difficulty of the enemies. Use idle mode for low-difficulty enemies to save time and effort. When facing mechanical monsters and bosses, switch to manual mode to ensure you can manage the battle more effectively.

Make sure to keep the Tooth Fairy alive during these tougher encounters. Focus on upgrading your characters strategically: prioritize boosting Jiu Niang Zi, Tooth Fairy, and A Knight to purple level (Insight III) before increasing their overall levels.

4. Plan your Encounters

In the early stages of the event, select low-difficulty enemies that increase your obsession by 5 points. This helps you manage your obsession levels effectively. Opt for Treasure Hunt nodes early on to gather useful items and resources. As you progress to later stages, shift your focus to Strange Stall nodes to acquire more valuable items and upgrades that will aid in your success.

You should choose the best props to maximize your chances of success. For Artefacts, prioritize selecting Bone Arrow and Mute Chainsaw, as they offer significant benefits to your team. When choosing Rituals, opt for Lucky Ritual to enhance your team’s performance. Buffat Ritual is also a good alternative if Lucky Ritual is not available.

How to trigger the Hidden Ending in Echoes of the Mountain event

To unlock the hidden ending, you should:

  • Step 1: In levels 1-5 (the 5th level of the first floor), select the “Discovery” node to trigger the special event “Under the Mask.” Choose options 1 or 2 to get the “Rusty Bow.”
  • Step 2: In levels 2-6 (the 6th level on the second floor), select the “Discovery” node to trigger the special event “The Red House.” First, select “Sneak inside,” then “Get to the basement” to obtain the “Cardboard Hat.”

Best Team Compositions for Reverse: 1999 Echoes in the Mountain event

You should choose 8 characters for your investigation team, ideally 4 DPS and 4 Support (1 Healer, 1 Purify, 1 Dispeller, 1 ED). The Healer/sub-DPS can serve as substitutes. A highly recommended lineup is Jiu Niangzi, Tooth Fairy, and Shamane plus 6 others, as this setup allows you to pass quickly and easily using idle mode.

Alternatively, you can use Jiu Niangzi, Tooth Fairy, and A Knight plus 6 others for a safer, albeit slower, progression. If Shamane or A Knight are unavailable, Bkornblume is a good substitute.

Reverse: 1999 Echoes in the Mountain event Score Rewards

Completing a full run in the Echoes in the Mountain event rewards you with sentiment points based on the difficulty level: 1080, 1215, 1305, 1350, or 1395 for each of the five difficulties. These points are used for accumulative reward exchanges. Each week, your sentiment gain doubles until you reach an extra 3000 points per week. To obtain all rogue rewards, you need a total of 25,000 sentiment points.
