Clash Royale is finally doing the much needed Matchmaking changes

The prayers have been answered!

For a long time, one of the biggest problems that players have been facing in Clash Royale are the matchmaking issues. It’s very much obvious that you cannot go up against someone who is many levels ahead of you. And this has been a cause of frustration for the players since the beginning. But finally, Supercell has taken a notice of this and is set to roll out matchmaking changes in Clash Royale. These changes will make the popular real-time strategy video game more equal and player-friendly.

What are the Matchmaking Changes being rolled out in Clash Royale?

After the matchmaking changes roll out in the game, players will be put up against players with a single King level. This may be more than or less than their own level. This has been done in order to make the system fairer. This is much better than how things have been working till now and will make the game way better. This has been a problem in the game for a while now and now this has been addressed in this upcoming change.

However, with these changes, a different problem arises for the players but Supercell has already considered this. As apart of this matchmaking change players are now getting paired with players closer to their own King levels. And due to this, matchmaking times are set to go up. As a result, players will have to wait longer at times in order to get into a match. In case the players don’t get paired with someone within 5 seconds, the leveling matchup system would get a bit broader and it would increase by a level on both the lower and higher side every five seconds upto three levels higher or lower than the player’s level at 10 seconds.

So, suppose if you have a King level 10, you can get paired with a level 9,10 or 11. In case that doesn’t happen within 5 seconds, you could get paired with a level 8,9,10,11 or 12. However, if you don’t get paired within 10 seconds, you could go up against a level 7,8,9,10,11,12 or 13. In Clan Wars 2 however, instead of after 5 seconds, the King level would be increased after 20 seconds.

When will the Matchmaking change arrive in the game?

These changes will be coming out on the February 25th, 2021 in a maintenance break. However, as it is a crucial mechanic in the game, there might be some issues cropping up later. The devs have said that the changes could be reverted if players face a lot of problems such as “unable to get matches”.
