  • The Red Cathedral is a faithful adaptation of the acclaimed strategy board game with deep tactical gameplay.

Devir has announced to launch their beloved turn-based strategy title, The Red Cathedral, on Android, iOS, and PC this Fall 2026. So, this is a digital version of the award-winning board game that sold over 100,000 physical units.

Get ready to build the Tsar’s grand cathedral and outsmart rival architects

So, The Red Cathedral is a fun turn-based strategy title for 1 to 4 players and a faithful adaptation of the acclaimed board game. Lore-wise, Tsar Ivan the Terrible orders the construction of a cathedral, and you must manage resources while trying to outbuild your rivals and earn the Tsar’s favor.

Here, you step into the role of a team of architects competing to construct different parts of the cathedral while claiming sections of the monument ahead of others. Then you search for and manage materials to be used for building and decorating, while accounting for the influence of the clergy and the different guilds of the city to stand out from the rest.

I like how we can play either solo or against other players, and since it supports cross-platform multiplayer, you can even invite your friends both locally and online, or just challenge random players. Plus, you can also face AI  on various difficulty levels. Overall, the game looks very promising with expanded art, solid replayability, strategic depth, tutorials, and more.

The Red Cathedral is set to launch on Android, iOS, and PC this Fall 2026. That said, the game is yet to be listed on the app stores, so stay tuned for more updates! Meanwhile, you can also check out our upcoming mobile games list.
