Clash Royale has officially revealed its June 2026 update, bringing a huge amount of new content. While the new Hero and Evolution will join the season festivities, a completely different game mode, progression overhaul, and the return of Seasonal Trophy Road make it a solid update for the next month.

Clash Royale June 2026 update: All the features and additions explained

New Hero: Tombstone

Well, my guesses were right! Okay, yours were too if you did. A couple of days ago, they dropped hints for a new Hero, and visuals looked like it was Tombstone, and now official confirmation has arrived for the same.

Arriving as a new building-based Hero card, instead of directly spawning a Hero, the Tombstone itself acts as the setup. Once you activate its Regal Revival ability, the building sacrifices itself and summons Tomb Queen onto the arena.

Tomb Queen works as a building-targeting attacker and continuously spawns Skeletons while pushing forward. Even after she gets defeated, more Skeletons appear afterward. The ability can still activate shortly after the Tombstone gets destroyed.

New Evolution: Princess

Princess is the latest card receiving an Evolution. The Evolved Princess fires icy arrows on her first attack and then every third attack afterward. These arrows slow nearby enemies while dealing damage.

Her Evolution effect also continues after defeat. Once eliminated, icy arrows rain down onto the battlefield, creating a frost zone that damages and slows enemy troops inside the area. You can unlock Princess Evolution using Evolution Shards or through the upgraded Pass Royale.

New Limited Time Mode: Princess Gambit

Discussing the gameplay additions in the update, we have something called the Princess Gambit, a new limited-time mode running for three minutes that revolves around random card gameplay. Unlike normal Clash Royale matches, there is no deck-building involved here.

Instead, matches pull cards randomly from a preset pool of 40 cards while you play. With this mode, we also see changes to the arena structure itself, where there is no King Tower anymore. Only two Princess Towers will be present, and destroying just one instantly wins the match.

At the start of every game, you can see which cards will appear as Evolutions or Heroes. Evolutions are active immediately instead of requiring cycle activation. Another important detail is that cards use your real collection levels. If you do not own a card, it still appears at its minimum playable level, so you can still use it.

Victory Run mode

The update also introduces Victory Run, a progression-based event focused entirely on win streaks. Every win pushes you further along the reward track, while losses remove one of your available lives.

Checkpoints act as safe spots during progression. Once reached, they refill your lives, lock in your progress, and improve the rewards you can earn afterward.

If you lose all your lives before reaching the next checkpoint, you can either reset back to the previous checkpoint or spend Gems to continue from your current position with refreshed lives. Pass Royale upgrades can also provide additional lives during the event.

Collection Level, Seasonal Trophy Road, and other updates

As revealed earlier, we also have King’s Journey and XP being removed completely. Instead, your Collection Level is calculated by adding together the levels of all your cards, alongside bonus points from Evolutions and Heroes.

Seasonal Trophy Road is also making a return. Here, Seasonal Arena I works similarly to the old system where you climb normally using your main deck and earn rewards. However, Seasonal Arena II introduces deck restrictions.

The top eight cards you won with most in Arena I become banned, forcing you to build a completely different deck. All lower-level cards are boosted to at least Level 15 inside Seasonal Arena II. Once you finish the full Seasonal Trophy Road, you can continue playing without losing trophies or affecting your Ranked placement.

As for improvements, Catch-Up Rewards are being introduced for inactive players, while Pass Royale is also getting improvements, including tier skipping through Gems and streak rewards for consecutive Pass Royale purchases.

A smaller Mini Pass system is also being tested, offering short-duration reward tracks lasting around 5 to 7 days. On top of that, Global Tournament leaderboard spectating is finally returning alongside smaller UI and banner customization improvements.
