Cloud9 enters the Wild Rift esports scene, applications now open

Another global organization joining the scene

There’s highly exciting news coming out for mobile esports followers and Wild Rift Enthusiasts as Cloud9, the highly reputed North America based esports organization, announced their entry into the Wild Rift esports scene on Twitter earlier today. The tweet also included a link to a google form open to all interested applicants.

Zello confirmed as the first member of Cloud9 Wild Rift

In the tweet, Cloud9 welcomed Zello as the first member of their Wild Rift esports team.  Zello is still relatively young in terms of experience when it comes to the esports scene but is a highly respected member of the Wild Rift community. Cloud9 also posted a google form calling in applicants interested in entering the esports scene.

The organization confirmed that they were accepting applicants residing in North America only. The form asks the prospects for a few of their personal details, their discord and in-game tag, their primary and secondary roles as well as their peak and current Wild Rift ranks. Competition is naturally expected to be heavy, but if you are a hardcore Wild Rift gamer residing in North America, applying would be well worth a shot!

The growing esports scene of Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift debuted on smartphone devices with an initial alpha launch all the way back in June 2020. The alpha launch was region limited to Brazil and the Philippines only. Since then, the game has grown both in popularity and content and the full version was finally playable on March 2021.

The game is the mobile spin-off of the highly popular PC MOBA title League of Legends. The popularity of the game was so immense that Riot announced its plans to conduct a global esports tournament for Wild Rift sometime in Q4 2021. A number of regional tournaments, most notably in Asia have already been conducted. Global esports organizations such as Team Secret, Fennel, TSM have already joined the scene.

League of Legends: Wild Rift has quickly established itself as one of the most important esports titles in the mobile market and the entry of Cloud9 will only help further boost its stature.
