InnoGames appoints Michael Lenz as its first Chief Analytics Officer

Lenz has been with the company for over nine years!

With effect from July 1, 2022, Michael Lenz has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) by Germany’s top mobile and online game developer and publisher InnoGames. Lenz, who has worked for the business for more than nine years, most recently held the position of Director of Analytics & Monetization.

Micheal Lenz will be responsible for InnoGames’ marketing, and game analytics in his new role

Lenz went to InnoGames in 2013 after spending three years at the Hamburg-based gaming company Bigpoint, where he rose from Games Analyst to Head of Analysis. He was promoted to Director of Analytics & Monetization after serving as Head of Analytics for almost three years.

He oversees marketing, gaming analytics, data science, market research, monetization, customer relationship management, payments, and video ads in his role as InnoGames’ CAO. Lenz will also assist Swedish Modern Times Group (MTG), the parent company of InnoGames, in assessing potential acquisition targets.

With his rare ability to turn data into insights and insights into impactful initiatives, Michael has contributed greatly to InnoGames’ success. His appointment as CAO and the fifth member of the Management Team reflects both his personal achievements and the ever-growing importance of data-driven decision-making,” commented InnoGames Co-Founder and CEO Hendrik Klindworth.

Lenz added further added “Even when I first joined InnoGames, I was impressed by the clean data set-up and the competent and transparent use of data. Building on this strength, other data enthusiasts and I were able to follow and co-shape the journey into the age of big data. Our goal was (and still is) to ensure that buzzwords like “marketing attribution” and “machine learning” are always backed by concrete benefits for InnoGames and our players. Overall, we want to continue to draw competitive advantage from our unique blend of creativity and enthusiasm for our games and data-driven foresight. I am honored to support the management team in this mission and look forward to creating many more millions of hours of gaming fun with my 400+ fantastic colleagues.”
