KONAMI is already known for many hit video game franchises and while the company revealed its business performance of the last quarter, one interesting thing we could infer from that is the company’s major focus on “networked entertainment offerings”. This strongly hints that there’s a possibility that KONAMI could launch mobile games for both the Metal Gear and Silent Hill franchises, potentially featuring cross-platform support.

Cross-platform functionality is a valuable offering that empowers players to engage with their favorite games across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent progress and an enjoyable experience. As the demand for such versatility continues to rise, KONAMI, given its reputation for creating amazing games, is looking to bank on that opportunity even more firmly.

The official statement read: With networked entertainment offerings rapidly becoming mainstream, now more than ever, many people have an increasing number of opportunities to enjoy playing games on any device. Within the official announcement, references have been made to several upcoming titles that are currently in development for both the Metal Gear and Silent Hill series. The lineup is very promising and given how popular the respective action and horror franchises are, the games coming as console exclusives alongside PC in the future will be somewhat of a disappointment for a company whose actively trying to invest in cross-platform compatibility.

If you do not know already, both Metal Gear and Silent Hill had mobile games in the past and did well during its time. If you are someone who has been playing mobile games since the Java phone era, you probably have come across at least one of these two.

So, while drawing an overview, the potential for both the Metal Gear and Silent Hill franchises to make their way to mobile platforms holds a significant likelihood. The incorporation of cross-platform functionality further signifies this anticipation, ensuring that players can enjoy these titles on various devices seamlessly.

Hence, the question arises, when will it come? While definitive confirmation remains uncertain, the substantial possibility of such a development is hard to ignore. There are tempting hints served on the platter from the Japanese gaming giant, but the hope is that these hints be a dish, one that mobile players can savor in the near future.

The implementation has already been mentioned with eFootball and Eikan Nine franchises
