2020 has been a rough year so far. Covid-19, Game bans, lots of deaths are becoming a common phenomenon. And now, here comes another bummer for the mobile gamers as Riot Feral Pony confirmed that League of Legends Wild Rift will not officially release the final build in 2020.
Riot Games will not be able to deliver the final release by EOY
Announced in Riot’s 10th anniversary, it was expected that the game will be released in 2020. However, since then the global situation has been changed massively. And this has even hit the game development scene. While it is really a piece of sad news for the MOBA players, it is not surprising to see Wild Rift global release being postponed to 2021.
But there’s a catch
Although League of Legends Wild Rift will not officially release the final build in 2020, players can actually still try the game. According to Riot’s last Dev Diary, the game will start open beta in some regions this month. And Open Beta means anyone in that country can try the game, unlike the closed beta where someone would need an exclusive invite to try the game.
League of Legends Wild Rift release timeline
As per the dates, Wild Rift will start Open Beta from October 27th in the following countries. And this time it is for both Android and iOS.
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Thailand
Other than that the game will also opening in Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Timor-Leste! And in early December, the game will start rolling in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Oceania, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam. For the Americas, the game will be available only in Spring 2021!
