Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.13 breakdown: All you need to know

Learn all about the new Patch update!

Riot has unveiled what is in store for the next Legends of Runeterra (LOR) patch after the Patch 1.13 release. The Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.13 comes out on October 29. Therefore, today in this article, we will go over the changes in Patch 1.13. With this new patch comes a new event and a small balance update.

Card Changes

Lee Sin

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.13

Lee Sin gets the long-awaited nerf. However, the nerf isn’t as huge as players were expecting. Lee Sin is now one extra mana (5 costs) and has one extra health (5 health instead of 4). We should never underestimate the power of mana nerf (recall Rhasa).

We’re not sure this change is enough to bring Lee Sin down from his throne. It will weaken the deck and the card for sure, but it might not be enough to shake the meta.

Make it Rain

The only other card change is to the powerful spell Make it Rain. It will now be 3 mana rather than 2. Unfortunately, this change mostly affects the popular meta deck Swain/TF. It doesn’t hurt pirate aggro too much, as some decklists have brought Make it Rain down to 2 mana and sometimes cut the card altogether.

These balance changes are underwhelming but the developers mention that patch 1.14, which is coming in two weeks, will be a much larger balance update. 1.14 will focus mostly on small improvements to several Foundations set Champions, as well as some, nerfs aimed at ensuring metagame health.

New Event: K/DA All Out

Special event cards

There will be, for the first time, event spell cards that you can earn just by playing the game. These spells are of course themed after K/DA. They can only be earned for free during the event, and after the event ends you can purchase them via wildcards or shards like any other cards in the game. Moreover, these cards can be used anywhere and in any mode.

As for the cards themselves, they all do relatively unique things. In terms of power level only Feel the Rush truly stands out as it’s essentially more consistent than Warmother’s Call.

New Lab: Star Power

The Lab will stay the same for the first two weeks. In this first Lab, you choose from six preconstructed decks centered around one of the new spells. In addition, each deck comes with a unique always has an active-passive ability.

After two weeks, the event will include constructed decks. This means you can bring your own deck and pair whichever passive ability you would like.

Improved Quests and Hearts

Riot has improved on the progression after the feedback from the last event. Your first win of the day will now yield 2 Hearts (Hearts are essentially the new Petals), and there will be an endlessly repeatable quest of 3 PvP wins or 5 AI wins for 3 Hearts.

There will also be five pairs of Epic Quests (a total of 10) that will unlock as you play. The first quest will reward you with Hearts, while the second will also unlock icons for each member of K/DA.

Alongside the Epic Quests will be a series of nine Event Quests that appear in the Event tab. These quests unlock in a sequence and earn you more Hearts to progress along the path.

These changes make missing a day much less punishing and make fighting the AI an actual option.

Event Rewards and Even Pass

Like last time, you can purchase an Event Pass (975 Coins) and get access to the premium rewards in this patch also. The free rewards this time around are all of the new K/DA spell cards, an icon, an emote, a card back, and 1000 shards.

If you reach the end of the event pass (and have bought the pass), then you will unlock the Signature Edition K/DA Card Backs – personally signed by each member of K/DA. The K/DA All Out event ends and the pass expires November 24 at 11:00 AM PT.

These are all the major changes with this Legends of Runeterra (LOR) 1.13 patch! The new patch is playable from October 29.
