NEXON’s 2024 mobile game lineup revealed
The first title in NEXON’s lineup is Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, which promises to immerse you in the intense combo action of the classic Dungeon & Fighter, now optimized for mobile devices, which I am very excited about. Mabinogi Mobile is next on the list of games to look forward to. This mobile MMORPG allows you to hunt, gather resources, and participate in a vibrant virtual community.
Following that, another new game, HIT The World, is added to the HIT series. And then there’s MapleStory Worlds, the upcoming latest addition to the renowned MapleStory series, which I’m confident will offer players a new chapter in the beloved franchise. Finally, the lineup includes Project Overkill, a 3D side-scrolling action RPG inspired by the Dungeon Fighter Online universe.
And NEXON’s new game lineup isn’t the only good news for them; the company is riding high on the success of FC Mobile, a collaboration with EA that has made waves in Korea since its release in September 2023. FC Mobile has emerged as a key title for NEXON, contributing significantly to both PC and mobile revenues, with mobile revenues growing by an impressive 9% year-on-year.
However, while NEXON anticipates an exciting year ahead, the company has encountered some challenges. In 2023, the company faced controversy, including a fine from the Korea Fair Trade Commission for allegedly deceptive practices in games like MapleStory and Bubble Fighter. Another source of contention was the Index Finger issue in MapleStory, which I believe highlights the difficulties of managing large online gaming communities.
Despite these challenges, Nexon remains committed to providing exceptional gaming experiences to its global audience, and with its upcoming mobile lineup, which I am very excited about, 2024 is shaping up to be an epic year for gamers around the world.
