Pokémon Go is rolling out a new anti-cheat system

Here's everything you need to know about the new anti-cheat system!

Like every other game, Pokémon Go also faces a rampant problem of hackers and cheaters that simply ruins the whole gaming experience for players now and then. The community has been complaining about it for a long time now. Niantic did try to curb the issue but ended up creating ban waves that banned innocent players. Now, Niantic has revealed that they will be rolling out a new anti-cheat system for Pokémon Go which is better in detecting hackers, quicker to take action, and will eliminate ban waves that caused chaos in the community.

The new system will take action on cheaters without disrupting others’ gameplay experience

This new anti-cheat system had been in development since 2021, with emphasis on core issues of cheat detection, fraud prevention, and observability all of which will help Niantic accurately find out users who have hacked at faster speeds without disrupting the experience of legitimate players.

Niantic will be taking action on several accounts that were discovered to be cheating during the latest in-game events of Pokémon Go based on the new anti-cheat system. These actions will be based on Niantic’s Players Guidelines which state rules for players:

  1. Players cannot share accounts with their friends.
  2. Players cannot buy, sell or trade accounts.
  3. Players can only create one account and creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
  4. Players cannot use third-party tools to spoof their location.
  5. Players should not intentionally exploit a bug to gain in-game rewards.
  6. Players should not buy or sell in-game currency or resources on third-party platforms.
  7. Players should not be using modified or unauthorized software.
  8. Players should not abuse the refund policy.

Niantic will also use the same anti-cheat system for all its games

Apart from this, Niantic will also be integrating the same anti-cheat system across all its games for faster and more efficient working. This will enable Niantic to detect cheaters spontaneously and eliminate cheaters on spot rather than in waves.

Niantic has also announced that it will be continuously working to improve this anti-cheat system to bring a clean and hassle-free gaming experience for its users. Users can stay updated on all the information regarding the new updates by visiting the official website or following the official social media handles.
