Pokémon Go Ultra-Unlock bonus event 2021: Schedule, list of Pokémon, and more

Read on to know everything about the three-part bonus event which will go on till the end of August.

After an incredible completion of all 24 challenges in the Global Challenges Arena during Pokémon Go Fest 2021, gamers can’t forget the tradition of the Ultra-Unlock bonus event. Mythical Pokémon Hoopa appeared during Pokémon GO Fest 2021 just the other day. Hoopa seemed intent on causing mischief and summoned all kinds of Legendary Pokémon to raids! That mischief is continuing even now, and it seems the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia will be summoned to raids next! Keep an eye on how time and space are distorted by the appearance of each of these Legendary Pokémon.

Ultra-Unlock Part 1: Time

The flow of time has been disrupted! Dialga will be appearing in five-star raids, and Pokémon from various eras will be appearing more often. Look forward to encountering formerly fossilized Pokémon like Cranidos and Shieldon — if you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Cranidos or a Shiny Shieldon!

Ultra-Unlock Part 1: Time will run from Friday, July 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Ultra-Unlock Part 2: Space

It appears space will be distorted as well, causing Pokémon from various places to appear where they usually don’t! Look forward to seeing Palkia appearing in five-star raids, Heatmor and Durant appearing in the wild, and more. Heracross will also be appearing globally for the first time in three-star raids—if you’re lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny Heracross!

Ultra-Unlock Part 2: Space will run from Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Ultra-Unlock Part Three will run from Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. What will happen once Parts 1 and 2 are over is still unknown.

The Pokémon Go Ultra-Unlock bonus event 2021 will introduce three new shiny Pokémon to the game: Dialga, Shieldon, and Cranidos. Niantic previously hinted about the inclusion of Shiny Shieldon and Shiny Cranidos when the bonus events were first announced since we already knew the first week would focus on Pokémon from different ages.

Schedule

  • Ultra-Unlock Part One: Time — July 23 to August 3
  • Ultra-Unlock Part Two: Space — August 6 to August 17
  • Ultra-Unlock Part Three: ??? — August 20 to August 31

Shiny Dialga will also be available during the first Pokémon Go Ultra-Unlock week, which likely means that shiny Palkia will be appearing for the space-themed block on August 6. That portion of the event will focus on Pokémon from various places, and with the recently teased-about shiny Heracross, it looks like some region-exclusive Pokémon might go global for a limited time.

Niantic was holding off on sharing any details about the final milestone of the Pokémon Go Ultra-Unlock bonus event 2021.

Niantic revealed that shiny Dialga is coming to Pokémon Go during the first Ultra-Unlock bonus week. And now, the developers have confirmed all of the special spawns that will come to the game for both the Time and Space weeks.

Starting with Ultra-Unlock Part One: Time, players will see Shiny Dialga become available for the first time, alongside Shiny Cranidos and Shiny Shieldon. Other Pokémon like Golurk, Porygon, Magneton, and Aerodactyl will also be spawning throughout the event in raids or the wild. All of the fossil Pokémon available in Pokémon Go will be hatching from 7 km Eggs too.

For Ultra Unlock Part Two: Space, the focus will shift to Pokémon from different areas. Shiny Palkia, Shiny Heracross, and Shiny Kangaskhan will be available. Other Pokémon like East Sea Shellos, Elgyem, Espurr, Munna, Red-Striped and Blue-Striped Basculin, Elgyem, Heatmor, Durant, and more will appear worldwide. Many of them will also be hatching from 7 km Eggs, too.

Both events will have Timed Research running, with different rewards themed around their respective motif. Let’s enjoy the Pokémon Go Ultra-Unlock bonus event 2021 and look forward to next year’s Pokémon GO Fest, and all the adventures in between!
