Pokémon Unite is set to introduce the 500-Point Battle mode in Spring 2025

Time to update your strategies!

In a surprising announcement from Pokémon Unite during the recent Pokémon World Championships, it was revealed that the 500-Point Battle mode which one side of fans has been asking for has been made available on the Chinese server. As a Pokémon and MOBA fan, I’m super excited to play 500-Point Battle mode, which will make its global debut in Spring 2025.

This exciting new mode will replace the current 10-minute countdown format. Now whichever team scores 500 points first wins, there won’t be any time limit. As a player, I believe this will make a huge change to the gameplay experience overall of Pokémon UNITE. In this article we will be going through the key differences there will be in the overall gameplay experience.

Key Differences between the Standard and 500-Point Battle mode

  • Time Limit: Until now, battles had a 10-minute time limit. However, 500-point battles have no time limit; instead, a team must meet a specific condition to win the match.
  • Score Visibility: In Standard battles, players were not able to see their team’s score till now, while in 500-Point battles the players will be able to see the scores of both teams.
  • Winning Condition: A team wins a standard battle by scoring the most points within a 10-minute time limit. While in 500-Point battles the first team to score 500 points will win.

  • Zapdos: In Standard battles, defeating Zapdos immediately applies its effect to the opposing team’s goal zone. In 500-Point battles, After defeating Zapdos, it will travel to the opposite team’s goal.
  • Double Point System: The Double Point we as players get after the 8-minute time mark won’t be there in 500-Point battles.
  • Aeos Technology: 500-Point battles employ Aeos Technology, enabling players to choose from a selection of buffs at different thresholds.

The community is already hyped for the arrival of a new game mode

This announcement has fans excited and created a buzz within the Pokémon UNITE community, While the CN Dream Team, unfortunately, lost the show match, their presence catalyzed the revealing of this exciting update.

Additionally, it was also announced that the Remoat Stadium will adjusted specifically for the new 500 Point battle mode as players can select from buffs to use. As we fans approach the Spring of 2025, we can look forward to experiencing the thrill and adventure of the 500-Point Battle mode and see how it will change the competitive landscape of the Pokémon UNITE.
