Project Racer open beta is now live on Android, bringing an immersive racing experience with realistic physics

Enjoy a skill-based racing journey with real physics!

Story Highlights
  • Project Racer brings realistic driving physics where you not only race but also work closely with your manufacturer team throughout the season.
  • The game offers an online career mode, cars based on real models, 10 manufacturers, 4 Engine suppliers, and more.
  • This is a no data wipe open beta, so you can carry your cars, account, and all your progress over to the global release.

UMO Entertainment has launched an open beta for its latest realistic racing title, Project Racer, now available on Android. This is version 3.0 of the open beta, and there won’t be any data wipe. Though there is no update on an iOS beta or global release.

Experience a true-to-life driving feel while competing against real players

Project Racer is one of those racing titles that caught my interest instantly. I’m just liking how it focuses on realistic physics instead of the usual cartoony ones. For instance, you actually need to brake early and respect the corners, and don’t even think about slightly going off the racing line as you’ll lose grip.

The online career mode looks promising, starting with winter testing after you sign up with one of the 10 manufacturer teams. You then work alongside the team while also competing against real players worldwide. Now, I know that I’ll mostly be busy tweaking my cars, like seat positions and gear ratios, to more detailed ones like tire pressure and throttle response.

You can work closely with engineers to refine your cars and more

As the season moves forward, you’ll find teams upgrading their cars, and you similarly play a direct role in that process. You’re the one giving feedback on track, helping your engineers refine both the chassis and engine over time. Honestly, after watching F1 recently, I feel happy to see a game bring the same sense of developing a car through a season.

Overall, the game looks very promising to me, especially knowing that real racing professionals have provided input for it. The content too is solid with realistic driving physics, cars based on real models like Mazda Miata, 4 engine suppliers, dynamic weather, choices, and more. I wonder if it can compete with upcoming titles like Racing Master.

Project Racer is now available in open beta on Android, and if you’re interested in trying it, you can download it via the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the global launch.
