SEGA’s Yakuza Wars confirmed as a mobile strategy title according to official Facebook page

A disappointment?

Story Highlights
  • Yakuza Wars Asia Facebook page description reads "mobile strategy game"
  • Yakuza Wars screenshots and first look video are also revealed
  • Yakuza Wars carries forward the iconic crime-themed storyline, with the first in franchise debuting in 2005

SEGA’s Yakuza Wars is now officially a mobile strategy game, as confirmed on their Facebook page. Based on the hit 2005 title, the announcement of its mobile exclusivity has been a disappointing revelation for many longtime fans who were hoping for a broader release.

Yakuza Wars screenshots and first look video are also out

The Asia version of the page was made live with its first post on the 29th of August this year, and the confirmation of it being the next game in the hit franchise popped up recently as indicated by Wario64 on X (formerly Twitter). In addition to the details of the game being catered for mobile, the game’s description was also shared alongside screenshots and video visuals.

Speaking about the game, Yakuza Wars carries forward the iconic crime-themed storyline while introducing innovative strategic gameplay to the players. Similar to the iconic series, in this game, you can team up with legendary characters like Kazuma Kiryu, Ichiban Kasuga, and Goro Majima to seize territories, take over various industries, build wealth, and expand your influence in the city.

The Yakuza franchise, developed by SEGA, debuted in 2005 and has grown into a beloved action-adventure series. Known for its gripping storylines and deep character development, the series packs action combat along with RPG elements. It has expanded over time with sequels, remakes such as Yakuza Kiwami, and spin-offs to earn critical acclaim and a fan following worldwide.

With the mobile game confirmation now live, it is unclear whether the global version is also in development since the reveals for the Yakuza Wars game were in the Asia region. Further details about the same will be shared as I receive it, until then stay tuned.
