- Clan Wars replay shows a different result in Clash of Clans because of a bug.
- Supercell has confirmed this and working on a fix.
In the heat of a Clan War, every star counts. But recently, Clash of Clans players have been rubbing their eyes in disbelief because of a clan war replay bug. You finish a perfect attack, the 100% Destruction screen pops up, and the War Map credits you with three stars, yet when your clanmates watch the live replay, they see your troops dying out without doing 3 stars.
If you’ve experienced this ghost fail, you aren’t alone. Supercell has officially confirmed a synchronization bug that is currently haunting Clan Wars.
What exactly is this Clash of Clans Clan War replay bug
The bug causes a discrepancy between the actual battle and the recorded replay.
In a typical CoC match, the game doesn’t record a video file of your attack. Instead, it records the taps and unit deployments you made, then re-simulates the battle for anyone watching the replay. Currently, that simulation is breaking, leading to a desync where the replay shows a different outcome than what actually happened on your screen.
According to an official statement from the Clash of Clans X (formerly Twitter) account, the issue is tied specifically to temporary power boosts.
The bug is triggered when players use:
- Power Potions (to boost troop levels)
- Power Pancakes (Event-specific boosts)
- Mighty Morsels (to boost Hero Equipment levels)
It appears the replay system is failing to account for these boosted stats during the re-simulation. While your actual attack benefited from the extra HP and damage, the replay thinks your troops are at their base levels, causing them to die earlier than they actually did.
So, should you be worried? The short answer is: No, but it’s confusing.
Supercell has clarified that the War Map, Battle Log, and actual star count are correct. If you got the 3-star on your screen, the game has recorded those war stars for your clan. The only thing that is broken is the visual replay.
However, this has led to some awkward moments in Clan Chat, with leaders questioning how a fail on the replay resulted in 3 stars on the map. Well, I am not going to lie, I did this too as a clan leader. And we 3-starred the same base just to avoid this confusion.

Supercell is working on a fix for the Clash of Clans Clan War replay bug
Supercell has confirmed that the team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. Because this involves how the game engine calculates troop stats during simulations, it likely requires a non-optional update or a maintenance break.
So, if you see a discrepancy between a replay and the War Map during this event, trust the War Map. The replay is just a bad reenactment.
