Tencent Games has announced that its highly anticipated exploration MMORPG Roco Kingdom is all set to begin its first beta test on August 19, 2024, in China, with the registrations now open.
Roco Kingdom has been a multi-media phenomenon since its browser game release
Announced first in 2022, Roco Kingdom was developed by Tencent’s Morefun Studios. The game is an open-world RPG that blends the beloved creature/monster-taming mechanics of classic Pokémon games with the expansive open-world exploration style of Genshin Impact.
Set in the universe of the Roco Kingdom, this game invites you to immerse in a magical world where you can explore diverse biomes, tame adorable creatures known as Rocos, and engage in thrilling battles as you progress. The game stays true to its roots while offering a modern 3D open-world experience with this new title.
If you do not know, the Roco Kingdom universe has a lot of content across different media and has a large fan base. It has been 14 years since the China release of the browser game, and since then, it has become a multi-media phenomenon that includes books, films, webtoons, and TV series, all centered around the Roco people and their mystical pets.
China hosted an offline test earlier this year in January, and again the beta is arriving. You can go ahead to the official website to register for the first beta test of Roco Kingdom. If you are from China, you can sign up using your WeChat/QQ accounts.
Currently, Roco Kingdom Mobile is set to be available on both iOS and Android platforms, although a release date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for updates.
