- The Ragnarok aims to bring the original RO experience to mobile.
- Pre-downloads are live, the game will open on the 31st of October, 2024.
Yet another game in the Ragnarok franchise has popped up, and I’ve lost count of how many live on the mobile platform. Titled The Ragnarok, the game is said to be the mobile adaptation of the blockbuster MMORPG, with the game now available as open beta in SEA, on both Android and iOS platforms. The game will officially launch in the same region on the 31st of October, 2024.
The Ragnarok aims to bring the original experience to mobile
Staying true to the original’s (Ragnarok Online) essence, The Ragnarok offers semi-pixellated 2D visuals, iconic cities like Prontera, and classic gameplay mechanics, now optimized for mobile. You can engage in party quests, hunt down MVP and MiniBoss monsters, and participate in large-scale 50v50 PVP battles, which were reportedly highly praised during the Closed Beta phase.
The mobile version introduces several quality-of-life improvements, such as trading systems, auto-play features, and regular in-game events to keep you engaged. With over 500 classic costumes, The Ragnarok lets fans relive the memories of the original game.

Weekly events and updates will continue to add fresh content, including limited-time costumes and seasonal challenges. Guild Wars will be featured, so you can team up with other players to compete in real-time battles, maintaining the competitive edge of the original. New MVP monsters will be added periodically as well.
Before this, we have seen plenty of games based on this franchise. The Ragnarok will join several other mobile titles based on the IP namely Ragnarok Origin, RAGNAROK 20 HEROES, Ragnarok Labyrinth, Ragnarok Arena, and RAGNAROK Vertical to name a few. If, in case, this brings more unique gameplay elements while maintaining the core essentials, this might turn out to be a hit.
With global availability unknown, you can get The Ragnarok on both Android and iOS if you are from the SEA regions. Visit the Google Play Store and App Store to pre-download the same if interested, as the game will open on the 31st of October, 2024.
