Torchlight: Infinite SS2 Expansion “The City of Aeterna” is set to release on 8th September 2023

Prepare to explore the mysterious city with the hunters!

After a highly successful worldwide debut and a well-received inaugural season, Torchlight: Infinite is preparing for an exciting new journey as XD Games extends an invitation to players for an expedition to The City of Aeterna. Scheduled for release on September 8th, 2023, this significant free update assures players, whether they are novices or devoted enthusiasts, of a plethora of thrilling fresh material to immerse themselves in.

Torchlight: Infinite welcomes players to The City of Aeterna in the upcoming update

Legends tell of a great and eternal city on Leptis, once blessed with prosperity and peace. A city that disappeared one day, swallowed by a foreboding fog. Where it once stood, a labyrinth of derelict ruins and withered trees are all that can be seen when the mist rises, promises of endless wealth and ancient powers hidden within. Over the years, many Hunters have come in pursuit of treasure, the city lying dormant, waiting for the chosen ones to reignite its long-lost flame.

In an upcoming preview livestream scheduled for August 26th at 12 pm PDT on both YouTube and Twitch, XD Games is set to unveil comprehensive details. Following a highly successful worldwide launch, Torchlight: Infinite remains at the forefront of transforming the dungeon-crawling category through its user-friendly mechanics and impressive graphics. Here are the key elements that this new expansion is bringing in along with it:

New season boss: The Lone King of Aeterna

The city’s reconstruction by hunters won’t go undetected because a dangerous new adversary is within. The Lone King of Aeterna will make an effort to kill anyone attempting to take over his realm.

Nevertheless, those who overthrow him will be entitled to stolen goods that have been stashed away in Aeterna for ages! This encounter will be more challenging the more rewards places you can link together on the world map, but there will be a greater chance of finding priceless new stuff looted.

New Hero: The Forsaken Iris

A new hero and a new villain are both introduced in The City of Aeterna. Iris is a Spirit Magus from another world who has the power to call forth a spectral army of Spirit Magi to fight beside her, enhancing them with support spells as they enter combat.

Compared to other Torchlight: Infinite summoned minions, Spirit Magi behave differently. Due to their special Growth mechanic, these strong sidekicks will level up with Iris and are able to hold their own in combat. You can assist in maxing out your Spirits by acquiring Talents or using specific gear. Each of the 5 Growth stages increases the base qualities of your Spirits.

New Hero Trait: Flame of Pleasure

Also, the most recent season will give Gemma, one of the game’s founding characters, a new Hero Characteristic. Flame of Pleasure, a brand-new playstyle to experiment with, may be acquired by investing Primocrysts or Hero Emblems in-game.

With the aid of this new Hero Trait, Gemma is now able to unleash the potent talent Purgatory, which deals a tonne of damage while branding her adversaries with a burning Brand. Then, Gemma can unleash Death by Fire, dousing her enemies in a raging vortex and doing more damage to those who have been Branded.

With a substantial player base of 3 million individuals spanning PC and mobile platforms, this recent addition to the series has swiftly progressed. Each successive update has not only fine-tuned its fundamental roleplaying elements but has also incorporated fresh seasons brimming with engaging content.
