Mayhem-Studios’ highly anticipated battle royale title Underworld Gang Wars (UGW) is thrilled to unveil its inaugural Community Play Test, set to commence on December 23, 2023, in the company’s office in Bengaluru, India.
Underworld Gang Wars aims to bring the Indian experience to a battle royale backdrop
Announced in May 2022, Underworld Gang Wars claimed to have crafted a game deeply rooted in all aspects of India, branding it as a battle royale specifically “made for India.” On June 6, 2022, a new story trailer for the game was released alongside the pre-registration opening. Subsequently, the first gameplay was unveiled the following year, accompanied by discussions about the release schedule.
This battle royale game is deeply rooted in the vibrant culture of India where you can explore and try out distinctive Indian weapons like Katta and Hammer, set against the backdrop of iconic Indian locations such as Ghat, Fort, and Station. Take the wheel of stylish vehicles like Jeep and Classic 350, adding an authentic touch to your desi experience. Choose from a diverse selection of headgear, face coverings, outfits, footwear, and costumes, and even personalize your vehicles and weapons with skins.
Ever since the gameplay was released, it has been directly compared to KRAFTON‘s PUBG Mobile given how similar it is. Alongside the popular battle royale, it will face stiff competition among the likes of Call of Duty Mobile and Free Fire, the games that lead the genre, while also from other upcoming titles such as Indus Battle Royale, developed by Pune-based SuperGaming.
Players can now register for the Underworld Gang Wars play test
The Underworld Gang Wars community play test is on December 23rd, 2023, at Mayhem Studios’ office in Bengaluru. To join, fill in your details here. You’ll get an email confirming your time slot if you’re selected. Just show up on the day, and Mayhem Studios will provide all the materials and instructions through email.
However, do remember, that this is an invite-only event, and you’ll need to confirm via email and verify your ID. This event might commence at either 10 am or 2 pm IST. Unfortunately, Mayhem Studios won’t cover travel or accommodation costs for attendees.
However, with this test, there is now hope that we are coming closer to more tests and finally the launch. There was a mention of the release date unveiling by creative director Naren during the gameplay launch, and we can expect that once the playtest concludes.
