War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has released

Square Enix initially showcased War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius was during E3 in 2019. This confirmed that the game would be coming to the West with an English translation. Well, it seems that the wait is over since the game has officially released on the play store.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a tactical RPG from Square Enix for mobile devices that has over 9 million downloads in Japan. The international release features dual audio and you can download it on the playstore or appstore for free.

Gameplay

According to the gameplay video, players will choose up to six party members to lead into battle. The combat borrows a lot from Final Fantasy Tactics, so we can expect turn-based strategy on a grid platform. The environment plays a role in combat and is destructible, which leads to more strategic choices. The game also features a job system, so players will choose from three different classes for their six characters. Allies also aid the player in combat, as an additional mechanic complementary to the character job system.

The story takes place on the continent of Ardra on the world of Lapis, the primary setting of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It depicts a war between five rival nations that occurred in the distant past. War is waged using the power of Visions which are physical manifestations of powerful warriors. These powerful warriors are from different eras and worlds, summoned using Crystals.

The game is free-to-play but will feature the standard in-app monetization that Square Enix uses on Final Fantasy titles.

As it stands, War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has been available in Japan since November 2019. If you are a fan of the original Brave Exvius, or would like to explore a Final-Fantasy-themed strategy RPG, then I recommend checking out War of the Visions: FFBE.

Please note that the game servers will open from 25.03.2020 00:00 PST.
