Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5 “To Be Fuel for the Night” update will release on December 30

HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5, titled “To Be Fuel for the Night“, will launch on December 30, 2025. This update will bring the final chapter 6 of Season 2, introducing new Agents, multiplayer combat, events, various optimizations, and free rewards.

ZZZ Version 2.5 pushes the Waifei Peninsula storyline toward its climax

In Version 2.5, you’ll get to witness the climax of the crisis unfolding across Waifei Peninsula. Moreover, the legendary Qingming Sword begins reacting to the Creator’s ancient power, which previously assisted us, but now threatens dangerous backlash to the new Agent, Ye Shunguang. At the same time, mysterious white flowers is spreading across Failume Heights, hinting at Lemnian Hollow’s growth.

So, you’ll be visiting the Lumite Mine ruins along with your allies and use the new Perception Technique to dig deeper and find out about the truth within the Hollow’s core. Your journey continues within the Sword Seeker Chronicles epilogue, where you’ll help Shunguang deal with Qingming Sword’s backlash.

During the investigation, you’ll find out more about her Bladeflash Mirage ability, along with exclusive rewards, like a new W-Engine.

ZZZ Version 2.5 update will feature two new S-tier agents and a Bangboo

Zenless Zone Zero Version brings two powerful new S-Rank agents with the Version 2.5 update, and they’re as follows:

1. Ye Shunguang

So, Ye Shunguang, an S-Rank Agent, is the first dual form Void Hunter in ZZZ. With her unique Honed Edge attribute, you can enter the Enlightened Mind state and deploy her signature Ether Veil in order to deal heavy Honed Edge damage while also weakening your enemies.

2. Zhao

Alongside her comes Zhao, an S-Rank Ice Defense Agent who is well-known in Krampus. While she may look small and adorable, you can move very quickly to attack and suppress enemies with her massive weapon. And, as you accumulate Frostbite, you can activate Ether Veil: Wellspring for team-wide buffs for your squad.

3. New Bangboo: Sprout

Sprout is Ye Shunguang’s Bangboo partner, who can also support you in the battlefield by delivering sword attacks at your enemies.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5 brings new events

You can also look forward to a variety of events, including the time-limited Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze. Here, you’ll get to experience multiplayer combat as you join a team of three to engage in fast-paced competitive challenges. There will be more such events like Angels and Delusions of Muse, Shadow Riptide Clash, and Wish Filing Station.

Quality of life improvements and free stuffs

This time, the game is also bringing several quality-of-life upgrades with Version 2.5.

• Agents like Soldier 11, Grace, Soldier 0 – Anby, Ellen, and Burnice have received enhanced mechanics and performance buff, with more updates planned for the standard roster in the future.
• Systems like Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault have been polished, in addition to the new sweep function which lets you quickly earn promotion materials and Drive Discs using Ether Batteries.

Besides them, in this new update, you’ll get the new Agent, Zhao for free, along with 1,000 Polychromes, a new outfit for Jane, and additional rewards as a New Year Gift.
