Konami Digital Entertainment has teamed up with FIFA to further promote esports globally. Together, they will host two FIFAe World Cup tournaments in 2024, featuring KONAMI’s hit football title eFootball as the competitive title. One tournament will be for mobile and the other for consoles.
18 countries will be part of this mega collaboration between KONAMI and FIFAe
Players from 18 countries and regions will participate, including Argentina, Brazil, France, India, and more. The qualifiers begin on October 10th, 2024, allowing players to represent their nations. Both Konami and FIFA aim to enhance the global football community’s engagement through this collaboration.
Konami expressed excitement about this new venture. Senior Managing Executive Officer, Kobayashi Koji, said shared his thoughts.
“We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the promotion of football on a new level through this collaboration with FIFAe. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at FIFAe for providing us with this opportunity.”
FIFA also shared its enthusiasm, with Chief Business Officer Romy Gai saying:
“We are very pleased to announce this collaboration with KONAMI. The new FIFAe World Cup is a perfect fit for our mission to popularize football around the world and provide a platform for players to showcase their skills. We strongly believe that the FIFAe World Cup, which all football fans can participate in, will be a success.”
Previously, FIFAe has also hosted the inaugural multi-title FIFAe Next Gen event in Liverpool starting this August 28th, 2024, which featured eFootball as well as Football Manager.

At the time of writing, the first round of the eFootball FIFAe World Cup 2024 has already begun in the game. You have two categories: Console (2v2 mode) and Mobile (1v1 mode). You must pass a three-round qualifier phase to enter the tournament. Both console and mobile teams’ goals will be tallied throughout, and rewards will be distributed based on final standings.
